Chapter 6 The Date That Was Good/ Bad

I was currently in my room of my brothers apartment getting ready for my date with Will and the girls were helping me out.

They picked out a strapless purple dress that hit my mid-thigh and purple heels with ruffles.

Purple was my favorite color. Always has and always will be.

The girls started on my makeup. Autumn was doing my lips, while Jaycee and Taya were doing each of my eyes. Then they did my hair. They straightened it so it reached way below my breasts. Then they clipped my bangs away from face, doing a crown effect with it.

The door was knocked on and I started breathing faster when Autumn left to answer it.

"Shh Skylar. breathe" Jaycee said and them Taya said "inhale and then exhale" I did that and my breathing became better so we went out of my room where all the guys were and my brother and then I saw my date. Will. He looked stunningly handsome. He was wearing a white button-down shirt, and black dress pants. His hair was for once straight and floppy.

"Hi." I breathed. "Hey" he said back as he looked me over too and I blushed. I still felt that feeling after he had asked me out. I don't know what it was exactly but it had me a bit sad.

"You ready to go?" He finally said. I nodded and hugged my brother and everyone else goodbye.

When we walked out he whispered in my ear and said "you look so beautiful." I blushed and he opened the car door for me. His car is a black Camero with white racing stripes over the hood. "Such a gentlemen." I said and he laughed.

Once he started the car and drove off I asked him "where are we going?" He smiled and said "it's a surprise." I groaned. "I hate surprises!" Will just laughed and said "but like I said at school you'll love this surprise."

After thirty minutes the road hit a sea end and led up a trail into the woods. 10 minutes later "my feet hurt. Why couldn't you tell me we were walking into the woods?" He just laughed as he held my hand and said "we are almost there. I promise." And soon enough we were in a clearing with beautiful flowers everywhere. It almost looked like the clearing in twilight. In the middle of it though, there was a picnic blanket and a basket with candles all around and I smile and said "it's beautiful!" Will chuckled "I told you that you would love it!" He teased and I hugged him and said "I do. It's beautiful." I kissed his cheek and he blushed as we walked to the blanket and sat down.

Will began to pull out the food from the basket. Two grilled cheese sandwiches, chips, grapes, bottles of water, and for dessert there was a packet of.... "Oreos!" I yelled and he chuckled while nodding. "Can we skip all the rest of this and eat these?" I asked pleadingly and he shook his head and said "nope no dessert before dinner" he said like a scolding father. I pouted and grabbed the grilled cheese sandwich and shoved a piece in my mouth, not realizing how hungry I was.

"Damn, you sure are hungry" he said and I smiled sheepishly but failed since I had food still in my mouth and he laughed more and said "it's actually cute though." And I blushed as I swallowed the rest of the sandwich and grabbed a water bottle and drank some while watching Will eat his sandwich.

"Awe man I missed!" Will exclaimed as I threw grapes at his mouth. I laughed and threw one up and caught it in my mouth and smirked as Will had his mouth open in shock. "That's not fair! How can you make it but I can't? I'm a boy and your a girl, how the fuck is that possible?"
I laughed and said "just because boys can do it doesn't mean girls can't" and threw another one into my mouth. "Still..." "Shut up please, Will" he smirked and said "I might, if I can have a kiss." I rolled my eyes and said "no." He pouted with the puppy dog eyes and said "please" I sighed and kissed him on the cheek. "Nuh-uh. a real kiss on the lips." I pecked his lips but before I could pull away he held the back of my head so I couldn't move away and we continued to kiss and then his hands went lower down my back and that's when I pulled away.

I couldn't... Him.

"Sorry Will. It's just... Never mind" and I looked away.

He put his hand on my cheek and pushed my face to his. "Tell Me Skylar. I'm your friend and I hope to be your boyfriend so you can tell me anything. I won't judge you or tell anyone. Just tell me." None of my other friends knew about him except my brother. I sighed "there was this guy and his name was Nathan but that's what I called him instead of his first name, and I was 12 at the time so this was before I was friends with you and everyone else. Anyway I dated him and soon we were together officially and uh... One day he was walking me home and then these two guys kidnapped us. when they took us to wherever the place was they beat us both... Sexually and physically.
Nathan was more beaten than me and one day we were alone and I was kissing him and I was getting on him when the kidnappers took me away and beat him again. After that, I never saw him again. And my brother was the one that saved me. For all I know he's dead. And I vowed that I would never let anyone touch me like he was going to when he got beaten because of me. And if it weren't for Jason, I'd be dead."

By this time I was crying and Will grabbed me and sat me on his lap and ran his hands up and down my spine whispering reassuring words and then when I calmed down and I said "I know it's a stupid vow and no matter who I end up with I will still love him more than anyone." He shook his head and said "no it's not. And he was a lucky guy because your so sweet and that vow is what love should be, and I hope I'm that guy who can make you happy." I smiled.

Maybe I can be his girlfriend. I thought thy feeling was just about Nathan but it was something else. But I don't know what still but I'm taking a chance.

"Will?" He mumbled "hm?" "I'll be your girlfriend."

He said "really?!" I nodded and he stood up, pulling me up with him and spun me around while I giggled.

We sat back down. All of a sudden we heard gunshots ring in the distance. We got up and quickly folded up the picnic stuff and started running which was hard for me in these heels.

We made it to the car soon enough and were speeding down the road. I jumped as someone shot again and it hit the back of the car. Were they shooting at us?

We arrived home soon and he dropped me off at the door to my brothers apartment. "I had a great time, even though those gunshots scared the hell out of me" I said to him. He laughed and scratched the back of his head nervously and said "yep, uh see you tomorrow" and gave me a quick kiss on the lips and then left. That was weird.

I knocked on the door so somebody could let me in and it was my brother. He saw my face and that I had been crying and said "what the heck happened?" I smiled and said "me and Will were kissing and he was moving his hands down me and I had to pull away because of you know who and I told him about him, Jason. I told Will about Nathan."

The girls were all squealing when I told them about my date after I told Jason about the Nathan thing. And now it was off to bed afte they left. But before my butt could get on it my brother called for me and so I walked into the living room and he said "look at this" he said holding the piece of paper. After reading it, my mouth was dry.
"Where did you find this?" I croaked out. "Someone slid it under the door" I started to the door but Jason held me back and said "he's long gone." I started sobbing. I took the letter again in my hands and read it again.

"Dear Skylar,
I saw you with that guy and I'm glad your moving on. I miss you so much and I heard about the vow. Don't vow that please. I'm not dead, yes but I can't go back to you. You saw me a while ago but you didn't recognize me. Neither did I because you've gotten so
Much more beautiful since... That. Remember that I will always love you. But please move on for the both of us.
