Mia's Drei

"Hello" sinagot ni Mia ang tawag ng best friend na si Chasie habang pinagmamasdan ang mga nakadisplay  na furnitures sa One Home. Naglilibot sya sa store Kung saan napagkasunduan nila ni Chasie na magkita at magcanvass ng mga gagamitin para sa itatayo nilang cafe. She is currently looking at the sofas. She thinks the style and the size of it will be perfect for the corners of the cafe they have in mind.

"Mia... Mia" narinig nya ulit ni Chasie
"Yes Cha? Sorry nagandahan kasi ako dito sa sofa,I didn't hear what you said."
"That's fine. Alam ko namang super excited ka sa much as I am. " Alam nyang nakangiti ang kaibigan sa kabilang Linya. It's been months since they've decided to stop working and put up the business they've dreamt since they were young. Natapos na nila ang ang arrangements and contracts sa mall na pagtatayuan ng All time @Missie's cafe. Napagkasunduan aralan na nila ang lugar, bagamat bagong Tayo ang mall ay sigurado namang dadayuhin ito ng tao dahil puno na ng call centers and other business establishments ang bahaging ito ng Makati.

''So what I'm saying is, nag set up na ko ng meeting with Architect Narvaez this evening. I hope your free tonight."

"Yeah I am" tugon nya dito habang sinusuri pa din ang sofa.

"So is this Architect Narvaez the son of your ninang Sandy?'' na meet na nya ang ninang nitong iyon in some special occasions they've celebrated together. Nabanggit na nga ng ninang nito na kung kakailanganin nila ng Architect ay matutulungan sila ng anak nito dahil naka leave ito ng ilang bwan mula sa trabaho sa America upang makasama ang ninang Sandy ni Chasie whose undergoing dialysis.

"Yes"
"Will it really be okay? You know he's here to be with his mom, not to work." Nakakunot ang nuo nya ng tugon dito.
"I guess so. Hindi naman mahirap Yung gusto nating mangyari sa shop"
"Fine I'll leave it to you then" at nsgpaalam na nga ito.

She looked at the sofa one more time and smiled, this is really perfect.

" Hrrmmm..." Napalingon sya dahil sa sound na namula sa likod nya and saw something that changed her definition of perfect. The  man  possess a dark piercing eyes with glimmers of mischief, a nose so confidently high and lips arched in half smile.

"Based on how you smile,  frown, smile and frown at this sofa I guess this is really the most interesting sofa this shop has to offer, right ladies?" Then she heard giggles from the two sales ladies who's accompanying this man.

Hindi pa rin nya makuha g magsalita. Nakatulala pa rin sya dito. He smiled even more, more than her heart can accommodate. He sure knows how to graces a lovestruck woman.

"I'll get those ladies, please pack them for me" he said habang nakatingin pa rin sa kanya.

Duon na sya natauhan. She knows One house rarely creates exactly the same designs for their furnitures that's why they cost way higher than than the market price. "No I'll buy it." Sabi nya rito.

"Do you have stocks for it?" Tanong nito sa saleslady.

"Ay Wala sir. Wala na pong same design nito"

He looked at her. "Well?" He looked at her in the eyes. " Ah" she gather all her strength to look back at him.

"I hope you understand, I need it." She said in a trembling voice. His gaze sent chills to her spine but she needs to withstand it.

"You got it princess. Wrap it for her ladies." He winked at her and slowly walk to the other sets of items.

"This way ma'am" Sabi ng isang saleslady at ginawi sya sa counter Kung saan sya naglabas ng tseke at nag iwan ng address for delivery.

Bumalik sya Kung saan huling Makita ang binata ngunit Wala na ito roon, nilibot nya ang ilang areas kalapit nun Kung saan nakadisplay ang ilan pang sofas in hope to see him but he was gone.

She wants to see him again to confirm if she's really awed by his looks or the smile or... While she's walking fast to the door to see if he already went out she bump into a lean and muscular figure in the isle.

"Whoa... Careful" habang alalay nito ang magkaibigan nyang balikat. "You must be in a hurry." Pamilyar ang tinig nito at sigurado syang ito ang lalaking kausap nya kanina kaya't agad syang tumingala upang sipatin ang muka nito and she was right.

"Are you okay?" Tanong nito.
"Yes" his hands still in her shoulders as if weighing if she really is fine. Her hearts now beating fast. A kind of feeling she never had. She knows this man will disturb the beat of her heart from now on.

At her age of 28 he never felt the urge to know someone as much as she wants to know this man, this chance may not come again so she's not letting it go. "Let's go out" she bursts.
"I'm sorry?" Nabigla nitong sagot sabay bitaw sa balikat nya. Bakas ang gulat nito sa mga matang nanlalamig at labing bahagyang nakaawang.
"I mean let me treat you" she bite her lips in shock and embarrassment "out...to lunch as my gratitude" she awkwardly added.
"You don't have to. Okay lang Ikaw naman talaga nauna sa item." He said back at ease. Though she wonder if he believed her cover up for her sudden confession.
"I insist" she is not letting go the fact that this man is definitely is his Mr. Right, the one, her better half .

"Ah then let's go." Ngumiti ito at iminwestra ang daan lalabas ng One Home.

Agad nyang tinxt si Chasie upang i cancel ang usapan magkita sa One home tutal naman ay hindi pa ito makaka alis sa condo nito. Hindi nya na din ito muna nireplyan ng magtanong kung bakit agad agad nyang kinansel ang lakad. Mamaya na sya magpapaliwanag.

Ipinaghila sya ng binata ng bangko pagkarating sa restaurant. Naupo ito sa kaharap nyang upuan at inilahad ang kamay. "I'm Drei." Nakangiti nitong Sabi. She wondered if the man will be tired of smiling since he seldom see him without his warm smiles. She smiled back. She'll definitely make him hers. Her Drei. Mia's Drei. A lovely thought.
"I'm Mia, Mia Arania" inabot niya ang kamay nito for a shake hands. It felt electrifying. Parang nanunulay ang kuryenteng iyon mula sa kamay nya papuntang lahat ng parte ng katawan nya. If her eyes were capable of producing hearts like the emoji does then she might probably look nuts right now if she isn't yet.

They ordered their food and while eating she introduced herself and hopes he will find her interesting. She tried not to bore him.

"I used to work in an advertising company but recently I decided to put up a business with a friend. It's been our Life goal to start our own cafe and spend more time with family and friends than in the office. "

"That's great, sounds like everyone is interested in business nowadays."

"Maybe because it's a great opportunity" tumango tango lang ito at halos sa kanya lang umikot ang usapan though he is a good listener and asked her a lot of questions which she gladly answered.  She did not try to ask about him since she's not sure if he's willing to share it to someone he barely know.

They ended up the lunch and he asks for her number na nagpataba ng puso nya. She really is blessed today.
