"Xocolanna what?" my eyebrows knitted in confusion as I tried to process what Timothy had just said. I looked at Harp and they looked just as confused as me.
Timothy smiled, "Xocolantia, it's my home land. If you want me to show you that what I have said is true then I would have to show you my home land. Come I'll show you the entrance." Harp and I looked at each other unsure of whether to follow him.
I shrugged my shoulders, "Why not, I mean my foster parents aren't gonna notice and even if they do it's not like they care anyways." Harp still looked unsure but I just grabbed their hand and dragged them behind me as I followed Timothy down the hallway. We stopped in front of a door that said "Janitorial Closet" I had let go of Harp waiting for them to yell at me for dragging them along but they just gave me a look that meant we'd talk about it later. Timothy opened the door and I followed him inside and made sure that Harp was behind me. We watched as Timothy knocked four times on the back wall and we looked at each other still skeptical of whether anything was going to really happen. But then this bright light filled the room and I had to shield my eyes so that I wouldn't go blind.
"You can open you eyes now Ash." I uncovered and opened my eyes and I saw a forest that looked like it had once been very beautiful but now it looked like a fire had consumed most of it so now it was a dark and dreary place full of dead trees and dead leaves. I looked at
Timothy and he looked sad but he shrugged his shoulders and motioned for us to follow him. Once we stepped out of the closet I couldn't help but laugh. Harp looked at me, "What's so funny?"
"We literally just came out of the closet." I started laughing again because I thought it was hilarious. Harp chuckled a little bit but I don't think they found it as funny as I did. I noticed that Timothy was leaving so Harp and I hurried to catch up so that we wouldn't get lost. Along the way to wherever Timothy was taking us I noticed that the trees that had started growing again looked different from normal trees. As we passed by a tree that had been recently cut down I got closer to see why it looked so different and a familiar scent filled my nose. I chuckled and yelled "The trees are made of chocolate! This is amazing!"
"Cool! But can you get back over here or else we're gonna leave you behind!" I ran back to where Harper and Timothy were waiting and let Timothy lead us through the rest of the forest. It felt we had been walking for ages until we finally reached a clearing.
Timothy stopped and said "We're almost to my house. It shouldn't be much farther."
We walked a couple more feet and then I was met with the sight of a small purple cottage. I looked at Harp to see if they noticed the purple cottage as well. They looked like they wanted to laugh at the sight of the cottage. It was nice to see that Harp still some sense of humor.
"Welcome to my home. It may be a little cramped but I hope that it won't be too bothersome." Timothy was just about to unlock the door when this dark, black fog started to roll in. Harp and I looked around confused as to where the fog was originating from. There didn't seem to be a source, it just seemed to have spontaneously appeared. Timothy started to look really scared, he finished unlocking the door and quickly ushered us inside. Once we were all inside he slammed the door shut and relocked it. He also began frantically running around closing all of the blinds in the windows and making sure they were locked. Harper must have noticed that I started to panic as well so they tried to keep me calm.
"Timothy when you're done can you show me where you keep your teas and coffee. Ash is starting to get really panicked and those would really help."
He nodded but I don't think he actually registered that Harper had said anything to him. It wasn't until he had calmed down enough and he wasn't running all over the house that he acknowledged that I was starting to panic myself and that Harp was trying to keep me from panicking. "I'm so sorry. Did you ask me for something Ms. Harper?"
