Molly's POV

I walked into one of my education classes to see Ashley sitting at her seat in an obvious daze. I took my seat beside her, glancing down at her left hand and seeing her engagement ring.

"Ashley?" I waved hand in front of her face and she snapped out of it.

She smiled. "Oh, hey Molly."

"I see that you have some new jewelry." I gestured to her ring, causing her smile to grow wider.

"Josh proposed last night, but of course, you already knew that. We're getting married!" She giggled.

"I know. I'm so happy for you guys." I hugged her gently.

"So, what else did you know about our date?" She asked suspiciously.

"Everything. It sounded so romantic. Did he tell you he loved you?"

She nodded and somehow her smile grew even more. "Last night was so perfect."

"I bet it was. He was so nervous that you wouldn't like it."

She gave me a confused look. "Why?"

I shrugged. "I don't really know. I think it's just because he cares about you and didn't want anything to go wrong. I think that's also why he told me about everything, to make sure it was just right."

"It was. I can't believe I'm actually engaged." She stared down at her ring as the professor walked in.

Class went normally, except every once in a while, Ashley would space out and I'd have to bring her back down to Earth. Our professor dismissed us and Ashley and I headed back to Mayfield together.

We were halfway there when Ashley squealed beside me. I looked over to see Josh behind her, jabbing her sides.

He moved from behind her to her side with a proud smile on his face.

"Don't do that, you idiot!" She slapped his arm and he chuckled.

"You love this idiot." He went to kiss her, but she moved away. "Please?" She shook her head. "Oh, come on. I was just messing around. I'm sorry. I love you."

Ashley continued to look at me as a smile grew on her face.

"Ashley, I know you're smiling. Please let me kiss you."

She turned her head back and pecked his lips. "That's all you're getting."

Josh smiled. "That's all I wanted, fiancé."

Ashley blushed and looked down.

"So I'm going to leave you two lovebirds alone. Goodbye." I sped up my walking speed until I could barely hear them.

"I know you can hear us!" Josh yelled. I turned back and glared at him as he waved me off. "Goodbye, Molly."

I walked the rest of the way back to Mayfield and entered my dorm, heading to my room. I plopped down on my bed, looking at my phone.

"How was class?" Kaitlyn asked from her bed.

I pulled myself up slightly so I could see her face between my chest and my phone. "Good." I fell back onto my bed. "Ashley had a new piece of jewelry on today."

"What kind of jewelry?" She asked suspiciously.

"A ring on her left ring finger."

"He finally popped the question?!" Kaitlyn squealed.

"Yep, last night."

"Yay!! When's the wedding?"

"I don't know, but I'm sure I'll be one of the first people to know. When I find out, you'll find out."
