Chapter 8

My father is the one who answers the door, oh great. "And who might you be?"

"The names Harold but i prefer Harry."

My dad turns around and looks at me. "Um dad I can expla-" I was cut off by my dad, "Who are you and what do you want with my daughter?"

"I already told you who I am, the names Harry as in Harry styles," he smirks like hes proud of what he just said.

"Okay Harry, what do you want?" he asked in a very harsh tone. "Well i came here to ask your daughter on a date tomorrow night." What is he doimg? Is he crazy? My dad would never say-

"And where would you be going may i ask?" my fathers voice interrupts my thoughts, what is he doing?

"Well, I was planning on taking your daughter to the carnival," he says being confident like always. "Im sorry but no she has a lot of studying to do," my mom comes into the conversation and interrupts my dad before he can speak.

"If you havent noticed, it is summer." What the heck is he doing? I look towards my brother and he is smirking because he knows what Harry is doing is the most stupidest idea ever.

"Yeah but i dont want my daughter hanging around a guy like you, she has a future and i dont want some idiot and a piece of-"

"Mom!!" i yell and interrupt her before she can finish her sentence. I go to the door and smile at Harry.

"Why cant i go?! Its only one night please?" i hope my mom changes her mind and then i can go with Harry and we could-

"No and thats final! Goodbye Harry," and with that she closes the door on him. "Mom what the hell was that?!" This is the first time i have raised my voice at her. "Watch your language! Is this who you have been sneaking around with these past couple of days?! What makes you think i would let you go on a date with him?"

"Why cant I ever have fun for once in my life? Hes sweet and nice, you dont even know him!" i feel my eyes getting watery.

"And you think after a couple of days you do?! Imagine if i would have let you go? Who knows what could have happened woth you and him this summer." My eyes are now filled with tears, im starting to develop a lot of feeling for Harry even though i have only known him for a couple of days. I run upstairs and lock my door. I turn around to see Harry sitting on my bed.

"Harry im so sorry my mother...well...shes a bit-"

"Overprotective?" he answers for me.

"Yeah im sorry though."

"Its okay Melissa," he gives me a reasurring smile which makes me feel at ease.

"Melissa?" i turn to look at him. "I wanted to ask you at the carnival but I know you wont be able to go but id was umm...just...wondering....if maybe Y-you would wanna be my girlfriend?" I can tell he was nervous and i was glad he asked the only problem was i know my parents would never understand but i wanna do something for myself for once and not worry about what others think.

"Yes Harry of course i will!" i smiled and kissed his cheek. "Okay good now for the real question," i laughed at him, "You still up for that carnival?" i nodded and with that he kissed me and then left.

I wake to my phone ringing.

Hello? Leslie?

Hey i know we havent spoken since the party and everything, I know I was acting strange its just a lot has been going on and i have some news....
