When we got back to my housle we decided to make pancakes. Let's just say, it didn't end well. We got flour everywhere, and, although Lily looked adorable laughing in that melodical way she does with flour on her face, we gave up and had bagels instead.
Time flew. We laughed and talked all morning, and we even walked around town a bit. We stopped in one store because Lily wanted to find a new sundress. She picked out a couple to try on, but wouldn't let me see them yet.  I waited, and finally she emerged from the store's dressing room, and my breath caught in my throat. I couldn't help but stare. The dress was a dark turquoise on the top that faded into a light blue on the bottom. It hugged her figure in all the right places, fitting her curves perfectly. The dark blue contrasted her pale skin and hair, making her features stand out. She looked so beautiful, and as I thought this I once again noticed her soft pink lips. Damn, I could just kiss her right now. WHOA! Where did that thought come from?
I guess I had been staring for a while, because I heard her speak.
"What? Is it really that bad Chrissy?" She sounded slightly hurt.
"N-No! It's amazing! You should buy that one!" I could feel a blush creeping up on my face.
"Oooookaaaaay...." She seemed slightly suspicious of my red face, but complied and bought the dress anyway.
We walked around a bit more, and before we knew it, it was getting dark. By then, we were on the beach again and Lily was dragging me to see something she was very excited about.
We approached an area filled with large cliff rocks. It made me feel slightly uneasy, but I trusted Lily. She weaved us around the rocks and up to a small cave opening in the main cliff. I was hesitant, but soon her voice filled my ears and calmed my nerves.
"It's ok. I come here all the time. It's perfectly safe." She ended her statement with a smile that melted heart.
After finding our way into the pitch black cave, we waitedabout five minutes until something started happening. Moonlight found it's way into the cave and, it shined off of every surface, making it seem as if we were sitting in a cave of pearl. It only lasted a few seconds before Lily and I found ourselves once again concealed in the darkness.
"Wow." I managed to breathlessly whisper.
"I've never shown anyone this cave before."
"I guess you could call it a secret."
"You know, the dark is where people share secrets." I didn't know why we were whispering, but hers sent tingles through my brain.
"So tell me a secret." My voice bounced off the walls of the cave like the moonlight had only moments before.
"Ok, um..... My mom is a red head."
"My feet are a size nine and a half, but I tell people they're an eight." She giggled at that.
"I wish I had a cat" She said.
"I want to go to space." I countered. We kept going back and forth gaining speed.
     "I like blowing bubbles."
"I used to hate the beach."
"How could you ever hate the beach!" She said with mock dismay, and we laughed.
She started again, "When I was little, I ruined my dads gatden because I was mad at him. I blamed it on our dog."
"My mom disappeared three years ago and left no trace but a note that told my dad she found someone else."
"I'm gay." Her words echoed in the cave, ricocheting off the walls and hitting us again, and again.
I might not have been able to see her in the darkness, but I could sense the silent tears sliding down her face as she stood to leave. Before she could take more than two steps, I reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her into a tight hug.
    "It doesn't change anything Lily."
She melted into the embrace, and gripped my back tightly. I could feel her smile against my neck.
