It was raining for the past hours and the sun had revealed itself in the sky. She felt the warmth radiated from the sun, as she gazed the water in the fjord glittered invitingly. The kingdom looked so alive. She could make up a few white clouds on the clear, blue sky and somehow those clouds formed the shape of the snowman she used to build with Anna. Oh, how long had it been! She sighed heavily, thinking about how her life had been so different after the gates were closed. All these years before, she would be sitting by the window with Anna, admiring the beauty of the kingdom of Arendelle. Some other times their mother would watch the Northern Lights while singing a lullaby for them before sleep. It was all good times, but now all that Elsa felt was total loneliness.
She had spent most of her time trying to control her powers and every time she got fed up with herself, she turned the pages of the books inside her room. Alone with no one to talk to, and practically had nothing particular to do, she had read all of the books more than once. She probably memorized everything from A to Z, but there was a line from a book she could never forget.
You are the person I fell in love with since the first glance.
That line bothered her that occasionally the thought of what it meant lingered in her mind. Does love at first sight really exist? Or is it just a myth? She did not know for she had never experienced those kinds of things. In fact, she was scared of how people would perceive her. For her, it would be better if she stayed this way- isolated from everyone.
Of course she longed for freedom. It was not all the time that she breathed only the air of her bedroom. Sometimes she would sneak out quietly and ran back inside when she heard footsteps from far.
Elsa shifted her gaze from the window to the door. The door that kept her apart from people was tall, white and furnished with snowflakes pattern. Staring at the door vacantly, a thought suddenly crept into her mind.
I want to do this but...
She kept imagining the risks if she was busted for going out. She heard from the maids that some officials from neighbouring kingdom were to come that day.
No, no. That's not going to happen.
After a few moments, Elsa finally moved from the seat and made her way to the door. Then she slowly —really slowly— turned the gold-plated knob. It was so slow and careful until there was not even a clicking sound.
Phew.
Elsa carefully opened the door. She carefully peeked out of the door and inhaled the air of the empty hallway of the castle.
It feels so nice to be outside, isn't it?
It took her quite a few minutes to enjoy everything. She looked to her left, well, nothing had changed. And to her right, all she saw was another empty hallway that led the way to another part of the castle. But as she turned back to her front, she was stunned. It was someone. Literally a person, in front of her.
Blinked twice, she tried to process what had happened. Was she dreaming? In front of her was the face of a young man – probably the guest, well, a prince? – with emerald eyes and a pointy nose. His auburn hair was combed neat and he had tiny sideburns.
Realizing what just happened, Elsa's face turned red and she instantly slammed the door shut, leaving the person baffled.
A mysterious girl with a pale complexion, icy blue eyes, and messy platinum blonde hair just showed up and disappeared in an instant...what the hell just happened.
The young man took a moment to come closer to the door and knocked. "Hello?"
There was no answer coming from inside the room. He shrugged his shoulders and slowly left.
