I did some research on tide pools for this chapter, they're really neat and i would recommend searching up some stuff about them. All the organisms in them are pretty sweet, and it's just fun to learn science stuff.
Excuse my inner biology nerd.

A menagerie of colorful creatures mulled about under your gaze. The crystal clear water allowed you to view the bright flashes of color that were tiny fish, prickly urchins, and swaying aquatic plants with ease. Tide pools were a favorite relaxation spot of yours. Watching the microcosms of life that flourished in the small pools, you felt at peace, and you often found that timekeeping was a lost cause. The minutes flickered away, seemingly as fast as the the legs of the hermit crabs who scuttled away under rocks.
Scanning the lower reaches of the pool, you found the ever-present, thick, brown algae, small schools of opaleye perch, and some sea hares here and there. Nothing unusual.
Well, maybe something unusual.
A massive purple starfish was clinging to a rock face near the bottom. You gasped. What in the world? You'd never seen a starfish over 10" in diameter, let alone one that was a foot and a half! However, reason soon overcame excitement and you made some sense out of the situation. With a sigh and an eye roll, you grabbed a nearby piece of driftwood and gave the creature a sharp prod. (seriously though, don't mess with nature, kids; it's not nice.)
You sat back with your arms crossed, and sure enough, a purple seagull exploded out of the water. To any normal human, this experience might have seemed like a bad acid trip, but to you it was pretty common.
"HAAAYY!!! What the heck was that for, (n/n)? I was just chillin' with my sea peeps!" The seagull squawked at you, alighting on an old dock post. You huffed. The purple seabird once again shifted forms, this time appearing as a short girl with a shock of white hair and an amethyst gem in her chest.
What a surprise.
You gave her a playful glare. "Really, Amethyst? A starfish? That's a new one, even for you." She shrugged. "Just trying to branch out a little, (y/n)." You noticed one of her arms now in the shape of a tree branch.
"Well aren't you proud of yourself." You sighed, looking up at the sky with a look of exasperation on your face. The gem sat down next to you and grabbed your hand. "Maybe if your weren't such a nerd, I wouldn't have to shift into a starfish to get your attention." She laughed, looking at you. The 'done' look your features held was replaced by a soft smile, and you gave Amethyst a quick peck on the cheek. "I guess so."

it's a little shorter than I originally planned, but hey, it's an update. I finally found some inspiration (and a good prompt), so here's a little story about how I think Amethyst would act as your gf.
Adios for now!
