If said fxxkboy is unavoidable and persistent, then make sure you have the right attitude to let him know that you're not interested. You need to stand your ground and let him know that you will not succumb to his fxxkboy ways, and that you are a strong, independent woman who don't need no man.

Betty and I were sitting in Veronica's bedroom, getting ready for the dance. Most of the families of Riverdale were quite well-off, but Veronica's apartment was something else.

They managed to make a small space into something so extravagant and beautiful, I kept forgetting that it was only an apartment and not an estate.

"So, Mia, mind giving me some background info on your relationship with Reggie?" Veronica inquired.

"There isn't much to tell," I said. "It's kind of a weird relationship."

"It didn't seem that way," she said.

"Fine..." I groaned. "So, basically, our moms were best friends since high school, and when we were kids our families always hung out and we got pretty close. I used to know everything about him and he knew everything about me. I don't know when it started but I started liking him - a lot. I've liked Reggie since forever, but then sometime during middle school he got into football and suddenly that was the most important thing in his life. I wasn't interested in sports so we couldn't really talk about it, so he spent more time with his new friends. And as we grew older our parents didn't force us to hang out with each other's families all the time so we just kind of drifted apart. He never stopped being nice to me, or joked around with me, but his attitude just changed a little and he's had his fair share of girls. I'm just not the kind of girl he wants, and to be honest becoming a River Vixen won't change anything."

"You sound so depressing, Miss Poe," Veronica complained. "So that's it? No juicy stuff?"

"Well, she did forget to mention that one time during the summer before we started high school-" Betty began to speak.

"Shut up!" I cried, but it was no use. Veronica's smile was widening and Betty's mouth didn't stop running.

"Reggie threw a party at his house while his parents were out of town, and somehow got Jason Blossom to sneak in some booze, and Mia got a little bit of action with Reggie in his pool!"

Veronica's mouth formed a huge oval and she lightly slapped my shoulder.

"Wow, you frivolous little minx, Mia, I didn't know you had it in you!"

"No! We do not speak of that night! Reggie was out of it and he doesn't even remember what happened. In fact, nobody else besides us was sober enough to remember anything about that night, so let's just pretend it never happened. It's kind of a bittersweet memory for a first kiss." I snapped.

"Again, Miss Poe, please refrain from making tonight's mood solemn," Veronica pressed on. "We have some amazing opportunities tonight. First of all, Betty finally has the chance to be with Archie and confess her feelings,"

Betty nodded her head in excitement, "Yes, despite my mom's attempt at keeping me away from the boy next door, I'm actually going to the dance with Archie... and you guys,"

"Oh, whatever, Betty, you will keep his attention tonight!" Veronica announced.

"That's right, Bets-" I cheered on.

"And you!" Veronica directed her sharp attention back to me. "You will make sure that you have Reggie's attention. Look at this dress, and your flawless figure! I will not let my beautiful girl go to waste tonight. Something must happen between Regelia,"
