Chapter 1

"Shawn!!" I looked up
"What Mother!" I answered running down the stairs I looked at her, she turned to me in her apron. It was Wednesday which meant it was burgers tonight.. I could smell Dad cooking the burgers and mother was making the side salad while as usual Scarlet was hanging in her room doing stuff with her best friend Madison. While I sat in my room on my computer doing absolutely nothing but today was different.. it is my birthday a whole day where I am the center of the universe, Mother and Father are letting me choose the place we celebrate... I chose the arcade. So after Burgers We will go to the arcade.. though I think it is rude for my sister to have a friend over on her brothers birthday. 13th Birthday... yes it is Scarlett's 17th birthday tomorrow I still would like it if she would show me love.
"Shawn!!"
"Yes mother" I forgot I was still on the stairs
"Come on its time for dinner.. oh bring your sister to" I nodded going back upstairs I knocked on her door
"Time for dinner" I said looking at the door
"Coming" she replied laughing. I went downstairs once again and went to Mother
"Mother why is Scarlett aloud to have a friend over on my Birthday and I can't have a friend over?"
"Because" she answered stirring the salad "your friends are Emo and stupid"
"MOTHER!" I screamed. Father walked out for the backyard carrying the burger patties
"Shawn! No screaming in this house" he dropped the patties onto the burger buns and slapped me
"Yes father" I answered after he slapped me not daring to make eye contact
I heard footsteps and laughter coming from the stairs
"Ew.. burgers" Scarlett answered with disgust on her face
"It's okay we will make so soup instead " Father threw out the patties
"FATHER,MOTHER! It's my birthday I wanted burgers!"
"No. Screaming. In. The . House " my father replied and looked at Scarlett
"Go back upstairs until dinner is ready" she nodded running back upstairs with Maddison beside her. Father grabbed my wrist and stormed into his room. He grabbed his belt, and whipped me I screamed and flinched with every hit. He didn't stop until he saw me bleed
"Forget your birthday we will go celebrate your sisters birthday tonight" he opened the door "and no dinner for you" I cried and ran upstairs, Madison walked out of Scarlett's room
"Emo" she said walking passed me, I ran to my room and took out a blade from the bottom of my drawer, lifted up my sleeve and let the blade slide from one side on my wrist to the other. 15 times the I stopped and cried myself to sleep.

A/N- dang I did not want the chapter to be so dark.. oh well now you know why Shawn hates Scarlett but have a good day.. also I almost cried writing this chapter.
