"What did you and Anna do last night?" my dad asked from across the kitchen counter as he spooned pasta onto his dinner plate.

I shrugged, cutting some of my spaghetti noodles before twisting them on my fork. I did my very best to lie considering I wasn't too good at it. "The usual: movies and food."

He ladled tomato sauce over his pasta before taking a seat across from me at the kitchen table. "Did your mom tell you about your cousin, Paulina?"

I shook my head and raised an eyebrow. I hadn't seen her in a while. She worked at the diner but as I stated before, she had to call in quite often due to the fact that she was a single mother to four boys. After her husband up and left, she was struggling immensely when it came to supporting the boys and most importantly, herself. We all helped as much as we could.

"She got married, I guess," he twisted his lips to the side.

"What? When? To who?"

He raised his eyebrows. "Don't know. They went to Vegas," he chuckled. "According to her, he's a good guy. Good with the kids, I mean. I don't know how she'd know that considering she met him a month ago, but whatever. She says she's happy."

"What the hell?" I exhaled. "That's kind of random."

"She's moving in with him, too. I guess he's loaded." He sipped his water. "None of my business, though."

"Are they going to do a reception or anything considering none of us were actually there to support them?"

"Yeah, its in a few weeks. Your mom has the date. She'll tell you when she gets home. It will probably be somewhere ritzy."

My phone buzzed in my sweatpants pocket, and my heart skipped a beat. I hadn't heard from Justin all day, and it made me wonder. I had been checking my phone constantly since I arrived at Anna's. It seemed to quickly become a sick addiction in just a matter of hours.

I slid my phone from my pocket only to see Anna's name. No offense to Anna, but I sighed. I loved the girl, but that was not who I was hoping for.

Anna: Has he texted you yet?

Me: Nope. You just have me a heart attack though. I thought you were him.

Anna: Take your mind off of him! Watch a movie or read a book or write or whatever it is that you do!

Yeah, right, I thought. After last night, getting him out of my mind seemed impossible. So much happened to me that never had before. I was proud of myself.

"His name is Daniel," my dad stated. "He's in the diner a lot, according to your mom, but I can't think of who he is based off of the description she gave me."

"And what description was that?" I asked, attempting to relax my heart that was beating a million miles a minute at the thought of Justin.

He smirked and looked up at me over his thick black rimmed glasses. "Tall, dark, and handsome."

"Does he dress really nicely? Black hair?"

He laughed. "How did you come up with someone based off of that vague description?"

I rolled my eyes. "Dad, there's not a whole lot of tall, dark, and handsome that comes into the diner. Slim pickings."

"I don't pay you to look at guys, Ken," he teased. "And to answer your questions from before, I don't know how he dresses or what his hair looks like. That's the least of my concerns."
