Hey folks, just finished another chapter; I hope you guys enjoy it.

Chapter 48

“Man that sure did hit the spot.  I am full as a tick.”

“Yeah you were seriously giving that sandwich the business.  I’m just glad you have eaten.  So what is it you want to talk to me about?”

"Vincent, these last few weeks that we have been spending together have been wonderful.  You’ve been attentive, you have been caring and most of all you have been a friend.”

“Ooook; I’m glad you feel that way. I love spending time with you.  I thought we already had this conversation.  You are stuck with me and I will say it again, I won’t leave your side until you are my wife and then I probably won’t leave then at all.”

“I know what you’ve said, but with the baby and all, I really care about you and I can’t stand the thought of you raising another man’s child, no matter how much you don’t care about Kevin coming over for the baby it’s not fair to you.”

“Then have to deal with Kevin coming over to see the baby, or picking the baby up, or his parents coming down to see the baby. It’s just too much for you to have to deal with.”

“Nikki, let me worry about how much I can handle.  I would do anything for you.  I don’t want to sound like I’m whooped, but you bring me so much happiness.  I have never felt this strong about any other woman in my life.”

“Baby, just let me handle that, I don’t want you to stress about it.  I’m gonna be here for you no matter what.  You may not believe this, but I love you already Nikki and I don’t care if you haven’t gotten to that point.  I know eventually you will and I am a patient man.  Promise me that you will stop thinking about all of that and just take care of you and that baby.”

“I have something else I need to tell you.”

“What is it?”

“Remember when you were receiving flowers and other gifts?  Well that was me. I was afraid that you wouldn’t accept my gifts so I just left them with a note.  I really wanted to show you that what I feel for you and it’s not a phase, it’s real.” 

“I just want you to give me a chance to show you how much I love and care about you.  No one has to know, we just keep it like it is right now until you’re ready to let it be known.” 

“It angers me when I see what you have gone through with those other men or shall I say boys and it’s time for you to know what it’s like for a man to love a woman.”

I sat there listening to Vincent and the look in his eyes tells me that he really does have strong feelings for me.  The tears welled up in my eyes and I couldn’t help but to let them fall. 

Then I reached over and touched his lips with mine and gave him a very passionate kiss while I ran my fingers through is hair.  He pulled me onto his lap and I felt I had died and went to heaven.  His lips were so soft, and his mouth was so inviting. 

I pecked at his lips a few more time before I put my head down on his chest.  He wrapped his strong arms around me while he told me he wanted to take me to Italy to meet his parents. 

I wasn’t ready for that just yet, and I can’t go until after the baby is born.  I don’t think his parents would be happy to know their son is dating a woman with a child that isn’t his.  No need to think about that now, I’m just gonna sit here in his lap and feel like the luckiest woman in the world.

We decided we wanted to watch the movie Coming To America with Eddie Murphy, besides the Color Purple, this is my favorite movie. We laughed so hard my sides hurt, Vincent was cracking up too.

He said he had never seen this movie.  I couldn’t believe that this movie is a classic.  We got almost to the end of the movie before I started to doze off.  I wanted a snack but I couldn’t keep my eyes open.

After Vincent realized that he was the only one watching the movie he stopped it and picked me up I opened my eyes and told him I could walk to my bedroom, but he wasn’t trying to hear it so continued to carry me to my bedroom and laid me in the bed.

“Vincent why wouldn’t you let me walk to my room I’m not helpless?”

“I just wanted to see how it would feel with you in my arms.  I know you’re not helpless, but at the time you were sleeping so peaceful I didn’t want to wake up to walk to your bedroom.”

“Well thank you and it felt nice being in your arms. When we were sitting in there watching the movie, I felt so at peace.  I guess that’s why I fell asleep in your arms huh?  I honestly was can say your arms are very inviting.”

“Well I’m very happy you feel that way; that gives me hope that we can have something very special.  We won’t get into that tonight it’s late and I need to get home and get some sleep some of us have to work for a living.”

“If you want you can sleep in the guest room; then you can get up and get home shower and get to work on time.”

“Thanks, but I’m gonna head home cause I can’t be in the same house with you and not want to snuggle with you.  So get back in the bed so you can get some sleep.”

I tried to argue with him and get out of the bed, but he quickly stopped me.  He put my feet back in the bed, covered me with the blanket. 

I am going to go now; I will make sure all the doors and windows are locked, I want you to go to sleep. Do you want to put on a movie to help you fall back asleep?”

“Yeah that will probably help me, thank you.”

“You are so very, welcome now get some rest.”

He kneeled down and placed a soft sweet kiss to my lips got up and then he left. I smiled to myself laid my head on the pillow and I was sleep as soon as I closed my eyes.
