Kissing The Big Bad Wolf

Prologue

'It doesn't work that way, Jake!" I shrieked, I was tired of it. Now he was planning to leave me? And saying that it's cause, 'I would be safer.' What sense does that make?

'It's for your own safety.' His tone matched mine but in a calmer way, like he knew this was all he could do. 'With you around, I'd be safer. Jacob, don't do this... Don't do this to me, don't this to us!" I pleaded for him to see reason, but he's so narrow-minded. Jacob shook his head, 'The council already decided.'

'I don't give a damn about the council, Jacob! Don't you love me?" I hissed out, feeling hurt. He had defied the council for Bella before, and she attracts danger. But suddenly just a little danger arises and he has to get rid of me, cause the council says so!? I refused to believe it. 'Of course I do, Sash.' He said using my nickname, but I chose to ignore that.

'Than prove it.'

'I am.'

'How? By leaving me? Is that the solute, Jacob? You can leave me and get on with your life because you think your protecting me? What are you so afraid of, Jake?" I asked, my voice slightly reasonable now. 'Of losing you.' Jacob said, he sounded like a child, and I wanted nothing more than but to comfort him. 'Jake.... You'll lose me if you let me go.' I reasoned, 'But at least you'll be alive.' He argued before sighing, 'I can't be with you, that's it.' 'Jake, if I mean anything to you.... Fight the council. Keep me with you.' I practically begged, and I was beyond against that. But this was Jacob, and for a moment I thought he'd agree, I thought he'd tell me it was all a joke and that we could be together. That we were meant to be forever. But instead.

'... I.... I can't.' Jacob promised and my heart broke, 'But I'm your imprint, aren't I? Aren't I, Jake?" I asked, hoping for some reassurance. Instead I saw the broken shell of the man I loved..................
