The next morning Daryl was leaving on a run. And since I wasn't strong enough I stayed behind. Which I was NOT happy about. But I went along with it since he needed to go. Him and Glen and Tyreese went on a run for meds in a veterinary clinic. So I was stuck here alone..well I had Ryan. Some best friend time was well needed. We used to have a lot of fun together. I'm sure we can find some trouble to get into. I said my goodbyes to Daryl and hugged and kissed him before he climbed inside the car with the others. I waved them away as the gate closed behind them. I walked back inside and down the hall to the last cell on the left on the bottom floor of cell block C.
"Hey." I said knocking on the outside wall of Ryan's cell.
"Hey girly whatcha up to?" He asked
"Daryl just left with a few of the guys on a run." I told him
"Oh well come on in." He said
"Thanks." I said walking in and sitting on his bed
"I'm just finishing up in here." He said wiping his hands on a towel
"Take your time." I told him
"I just have to put my shoes on." He said sitting beside me with his boots
"Okay"I said
"Okay all done." He said clapping his hands together and standing up off the bed
"So whatcha wanna do?" I asked "We could go for a hike?"
"Mmmm are you ready for that? Actually is your body ready for that?" He asked
"Yes....plus I have to strengthen it back up so what better way then a hike." I said
"Fine then let's go." He said
We made out way out of his cell and outside before making a stop at my cell for my pistol and katana. You always need some sort of protection. We walked to the hole in the fence and followed the beaten trails around the creek and through the woods.
"When you left for boot camp what was going through your head?" I asked him tearing a leaf apart and steeping over a stick in my path
"I was terrified. I just wanted to go home." Ryan said looking at the ground then back up
"Why?" I asked
"I was getting ready to go through the hardest boot camp in the world." He said staring off into space
"Oh I'm sorry." I said glancing at him then looking away
"How did you meet your friend Alex. I remember some of the stories you told me about you two and my brother." I said smiling
"He was my rack mate. We started talking over country music. We sang it all the time. Fuck we still do." He said
"Nice." I said giggling
"Let's head on back." He said
We turned back and crawled through the hole locking it behind us. We skipped up the gravel road signing some stupid and random tune. After reaching the prison we saw a strange car. A man was walking out of the prison and to the car.
"I wonder who that is?" I asked
"I don't know" He said getting closer "Alex?"
"Asshole!" Alex said smiling and walking toward us and we met him half way
"What are you doing here?" Ryan asked him
"Looking for you you fruity fucker." He said laughing "Whose this?" He said looking at me
"This is my best friend Riley." Ryan said introducing me to Alex
"Nice to finally meet you. This guy never EVER shut up about you. Riley this Riley that Riley did that Riley and I blah blah blah Riley is so pretty..like shut the fuck up." Alex said mocking Ryan who looked embarrassed
"Well Alex let's get you settled in." Ryan said putting his hand on Alex's and mines shoulder.
"That Rick guy said I can have the cell next to yours." Alex said
The three of us walked inside and helped Alex set up his new room. We laughed and joked around with each other. We then went into Ryan's cell and told stories about our childhood and our friends from school. I then listened to Alex and Ryan tell stories about them and my brother in the marines. Boy they got into a lot of trouble. It was nice seeing these two together again. I just sat there and smiled listening to them talk. And it was getting late and I didn't feel like walking to my cell. So I listened to more of their stories after I kicked them off Ryan's bed so I could have it for myself. And that's where I slept that night. Listening to two bumbling idiots talk for hours.
