jinyoung decided he was an idiot.

when jinyoung arrived at his room that day, mark wasn't there, so for some reason, he thought it would be a good idea to call his mom. thinking back, it was such a stupid idea. it was probably the worst idea he ever had. but, he was upset, and people make stupid decisions when they're upset.

the raven-haired male sat on his unmade bed with his phone pressed against his ear, listening to the ongoing ringing. it stopped after a few seconds and his mother's voice broke through the momentary silence. "yes, sweetie? did something happen?" jinyoung scowled to himself at her nice tone.

his reply came quickly, using a much harsher tone than the woman on the other end of the call. "yes, something happened. why didn't you tell me i had a boyfriend?" there was a long silence after that and jinyoung assumed his mother was thinking of a convincing excuse. "i'm sorry, what? what boyfriend?" she asked him, feigning innocence. "don't you dare pretend you don't know what i'm talking about!" jinyoung shouted into the phone while standing up from his spot on the bed.

"i know i had a life before i got into that car accident, mother! a life that you hid from
me because you didn't approve!" jinyoung seethed, his words laced with venom. he might've been overreacting a bit, but how could this woman hide such an important part of his life from him? "i didn't ask for you to hide it from me! jackson sure as hell didn't ask you to hide it from me!" jinyoung breathed in and out deeply as an attempt to calm down. it helped, thankfully, or else he probably would've upset his mom more. he wasn't, however, expecting the words that came out of her mouth next. "park jinyoung, pack your bags. you're coming home."

jinyoung was now sitting in front of the dormitory, waiting for his mom to arrive. tears continuously slipped out of his eyes and down his cheeks. his face felt incredibly hot, and it seemed impossible to stop the occasional sobs that escaped his lips. he was, indeed, an idiot. he heard footsteps approaching and looked up to see a familiar face. not the face he was hoping to see, of course, but still a face that belonged to someone who made him feel comfortable and safe.

"what are you doing? why are you sitting out here, crying?" mark asked with a slight tilt of his head. this somehow upset jinyoung even more and his face scrunched up a bit before he let out a loud sob. he knew he was being a baby, or a brat, but he couldn't help it. "my mom... i asked her about my life before the car accident— my life with jackson— and she said to pack my bags. she should be here soon..."

mark frowned and crouched in front of jinyoung, so they were at the same eye level. "that's ridiculous. have you told jackson?" jinyoung shook his head while looking down at his hands that shook slightly. "i don't have his number, and i don't remember which room is his..." he mumbled, feeling absolutely horrible. he felt mark's gaze digging into his skin for a few minutes until the elder stood up. "wait here, try your best not to go with your mom." and with that, mark ran into the building, leaving jinyoung to drown in his own tears.

jackson sat in his room with yugyeom and bambam, the three of them watching strong woman do bong soon. they were chowing down on a huge bowl of popcorn when bambam suddenly spoke up. "you know, i'm not gay, or anything—" this earned a smack on his head from the younger, but taller boy sitting next to him. bambam smirked at yugyeom, knowing it got on his nerves when he said stuff like that. "but," he continued, "i would totally let park hyungsik fuck me in the ass."

before yugyeom could strangle the life out of bambam, jackson's phone started ringing. all three of them looked down at the screen and jackson was slightly taken by surprise. the caller was his ex-boyfriend, mark. yes, he dated mark for a little while. after learning jinyoung had amnesia and his mom forbidding him from ever seeing the boy again, jackson moved into the dormitory early as a way to escape his feelings. upon arriving at the college campus, he met mark. jackson was still so upset that he forced his feelings for jinyoung onto mark instead. however, mark definitely wasn't jinyoung and jackson never felt completely comfortable with the older boy. so, a day or two before school officially started, jackson broke up with mark and hasn't talked to him since, too embarrassed by his previous actions.

jackson reached over and declined mark's call. "do bong soon is more important." he muttered, earning confused glances from the two fetuses on the floor. they shrugged it off and went back to watching the show until loud knocking cut through their immersion. "jackson, open the door, please! it's important!" jackson frowned upon hearing mark's voice. what could possibly be more important than this k-drama?

jackson slowly stood up from his bed and made his way over to the door, opening it a crack. "what do you want?" he asked coldly and ignored mark's exasperated sigh. "it's about jinyoung." this peaked jackson's interest and he opened the door wide enough for mark to see his whole body. "what about jinyoung?" jackson raised an eyebrow in the elder's direction. "well, his mom, actually. he said she's coming to bring him home."

jackson's eyes widened and he immediately pushed past mark, slamming the door to his room shut in the process. with bare feet, he ran down the staircase; he wasn't going to let that woman ruin his relationship with jinyoung again. the brunette shoved open the doors that led outside and looked around for the familiar head of his boyfriend. he quickly found jinyoung, but the boy was ducking down into a car, a car that undoubtedly belonged to his mother. jackson ran over and practically jumped on top of the car as it began driving away. jinyoung's mom slammed on the breaks and rolled down her window.

"what are you doing? get out of my way!" she shouted at the brunette, but he shook his head defiantly. "no, you crazy bitch." he muttered, not loud enough for her to hear. he walked over to jinyoung's side of the car and opened the door. "get out." he ordered the younger. jinyoung looked up at him with wide eyes, glancing back at his mom and shaking his head. "i can't..." he said quietly. "of course, you can." jackson scoffed and grabbed jinyoung's wrist, pulling him out of the car, careful not to accidentally hurt the raven-haired boy.

"legally," jackson began, talking loud enough for the woman in the car to hear, "jinyoung is an adult. he makes his own decisions now, and you cannot force him to go with you." jinyoung's mom scowled at them, but didn't say anything in return, letting jackson walk away with his arm around her son's waist. she might've been crazy, but she knew when she had lost an argument.
