THE MONGOL
CHAPTER: 1
FOOL’s PARADISE
Am I insane?
They say that I am … one of a kind ... lunatic … delusional … paranoid.
This is what they have charged me with. To bind me…To suppress me they have confined me shunned me away from a world that was my playground … but what is delusion but another realm of reality what is paranoia but another built in safeguard what is lunacy but another form of joy. Joy the prodigal son of sorrow … begotten of pain that leads to clarity the path of the righteous … path of misery that leads to salvation. Have I not atoned for my sins that I still dwell in this purgatory drawn towards the imminent doom. How long shall I wear the crown of thorns that poisons my head how long shall I carry the burden of damnation that drags me down in the quick sands of hopelessness. Maybe the light of God will guide me the transcendent the absolute. Because I am his soldier and I shall cleanse the world from the evil that people have wrought I shall walk through the valley of the dead to reap the damned souls and make peace in his dominion.
The train of thought descended in to a hazy pit as Jack sat motionless in the corner against the padded wall of the gloomy solitary cell and gazed via his slanted eyes through the crimson haze generated by single red light in the ceiling. He felt numb an expression of awe plastered his face head filled with red haze eyes wide and in a trance like he was watching God.
“Wake up Jack….” A familiar whisper spoke in his ear.
“Wake up Mr. Jack White….” The whisper spoke again.
Jack slowly came back to his senses and ditched the train of thought.
“You again …. Go away” Jack said without moving his head.
“What’s the matter don’t you wanna talk to your friend” The sinister whisper spoke in his ear and Jack could tell that it was smiling. That wretched evil smile.
“Leave me alone” Jack replied trying to ignore the whispers.
“There’s no one here but us who you gonna speak to loneliness can drive a man insane” The whisper advised.
“You’re only in my head a figment of imagination” Jack replied.
“Am I now who is filling your head with this nonsense?” The Whisper said
“Doctor says that I am hallucinating He says that I’m crazy, paranoid” Jack said
“Maybe it’s just a lie a game they are playing to prove that you are insane maybe it’s them who are actually insane” The whisper suggested in its sinister tone.
“Do you really think that I’m not crazy …. And actually its them who are insane and they are playing some sort of diabolical game with me” Jack said He wanted to believe The Whisper.
“Would I lie to you … Look at yourself you are not built to rot in this Hellhole …. You were created for something …. Something grand” The whisper echoed.
“You know if I could getaway …. Breakout …. But I can’t. They have begun to give me Electrical Shock Therapy now it’s been quite some time now I think …. They say its mild and I will forget bad things and probably start to remember some important things but I think I’m starting to lose myself …. I’m beginning to see things I think I’m beginning to see the reality, the oblivion but I’m afraid of it I’m afraid that it might swallow me and I will be lost forever” Jack said while his head buzzed with funny ideas a desperate urge began to cloud his mind.
“Well that sounds fun “Electrical Shock Therapy” The whisper said it sounded amused.
“They conduct the evaluation and it’s always the same questions in particular one question and after the evaluation the Shock Therapy begins” Jack said.
“What’s that question” The whisper inquired.
“I …. I forgot …. Can’t remember it” Jack replied while trying to remember the last session but it was all a little out of reach of his memory.
“Well then what you gonna do Jack” The Whisper asked.
“My name is Reap Marker …. Or …. Is it Jack White” Jack said he was confused he couldn’t remember which one was his true identity his mind struggled to compute between two equally plausible realities.
“Well which one is it …. Jack or Reap?” The whisper inquired.
“I don’t know …. Okay! …. Anyways what’s in the name …. It doesn’t matter” Jack lashed out he was frustrated.
“Reap Marker …. A little off beat but it’ll do …. Unique like you” The whisper said.
“You know I was Black Ops Operative …. And a Fighter Pilot” Jack said.
“A bit odd isn’t it a commando and a fighter pilot” The whisper said.
“I was part of a special program trained to operate in odd situations” Jack said.
“Do you think you still have the skills” The whisper inquired.
“Absolutely” Jack replied.
“But looks like I’m stuck here while they wipe away my memory” Jack said.
“Well you never know when an opportunity will present itself and all you have to do is to create a blood bath and make a mess the rest will be easy” The whisper said.
A light of hope suddenly kindled in Jack’s heart. He closed his eyes tried to keep maddening thoughts away and tried shut out the whisper. Soon he drifted away on the train of thought again in an alternate reality.
