The cindering wood snapped as the flames burned over them, The light breeze shaking the trees as the smoke lifted up into the sky.The camp was filled with tents and the lively chatter of those not considered human. Sam started to walk ahead of me towards a grey tent, she sat down on a log next to it and sighed."You tired?" I asked as I stood in front of the tent.Sam gave me a look and smiled."No. My just need to clear my head." I realised my question might have been ignorent, I didn't even know if she ever did get exausted. I highly doubted that vampires needed any rest but I was still a bit curious about it."Rizo?Stop spacing out like that." Her words brought me out of the thoughts."Oh sorry.Just thinking about something." I put my hands in my jacket pockets and took a few steps forward. I stared at all the other people in the camp. This place seemed different to me. Most of my time was spent hiding away in abandoned buildings trying to avoid humans, usually moving from place to place trying to prevent them from seeing what I was. But this camp was different. I saw all varieties of creatures living life as if there was no worries. Demons ,ghouls , nekos and the occasional fallen angels were all gathered in one place. A place made so we all could be kept safe from the humans and their fear of us. Sam stood up and tapped me on the shoulder."Your okay aren't you?" I turned around and looked at her."Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?Finally found a place to rest without having to keep one eye open." She stared down at the ground."You acting it didn't happen ... why?" I was confused and asked her what she meant by that."You know what.If ignoring something like that is really possible for you then I am a bit concerned Rizo." I thought about it for a while then answered her. "If your talking about the guy I killed then I really don't wanna talk about it." She gave me a look and sat on the log again. "Your changing... and I fear the fact that its not for better but for worse." I walked up to her and was about to say something but someone interrupted us.She dragged her finger down my tail and I immediately turned around."Hey Whats the big idea..."A girl stood there giggling at me and Sam just kept quiet, she seemed to be angry that I didn't finish our conversation.I didn't know who she was but looking at her gave me a strange feeling, my mind felt a bit hazy.A strange girl she was though.Light pink hair, peachy skin and vibrant purple eyes. She seemed to be a demon of some sort, no older then I was but I really wanted to know why she had interrupted us.She finally stops giggling."Heh, I knew I would find you some day."She walked up close to me and wrapped her arms around me.I didn't know what to expect.
