Chapter 5 : Memories

I sat there in the tent with my arms folded.She wasn't angry at me anymore but I wondered if this was any better then being scolded at."So wait You use to be a girl?Ha!"Sam was laughing it up after I explained to her the whole reincarnation spell.I wasn't in the mood to be made fun of so I sat there quietly ignoring her chuckle."Heh, well I guess that kinda explains why you act so strange sometimes." I turn around and give her a puzzled expression,"What do you mean strange?"She tried to get rid of the subject by handing me a cup of coffee but I wasn't about to forget what she had said."If the way I act is strange then I guess I'd rather be strange then normal."She sighs and sits down."I didn't mean it that way Rizo. Its just sometimes you do get along with girls all to well.I guess its 'cause you had past experience."I sipped the coffee as she grinned at the thought of what Suki could have looked like."It doesn't work that way.I have her soul, her spirit but I definitely didn't receive her memories or personality.Just 'cause I was her doesn't mean we are the same person." I continued sipping the coffee and yawned."You ask me it sounds a bit complicated. Wait how did Ruby find you anyways?"What she asked was new to me.I never bothered to ask myself that question either.How did Ruby find me?But I thought it best not to stress my mind with that after all I was here to rest.After a while of avoiding Sam's questions about Ruby and Suki's relationship I decided it was good time to take a look around camp.The sun was setting in the distance leaving a collage of pinkish orange covering the tops of the tents.Some people had started to relight the campfires and lanterns just as the rays disappeared.I had to admit I adapted to a nocturnal way of living easily.I remembered when I chose to start avoiding the mornings, for a couple of years I hung out and lived with a group of outcasts and runaways.It was at about the time I had left my own home when they had found me unconcious in that blizzard.Although the group was small it was very diverse.It had just been the five us chilling at the outskirts of a small town.Our favorite place was a crystal cave. The shards of transparent rock were so beautiful when we shined torches through them.Anna seemed to be leader of the group, She and her brother were both dark angels, he and I never seemed to get along though.His name was Jason and he was about 2 years older than me.He was aggresive and hard to deal with at times but he was skilled at fire magic.Given the circumstances he ended up being the one who taught me how to wield a blade.His swordsmanship seemed to diminish his dislike for me so I learned fast. Yulia was Jason's girlfriend, an average demon with an attitude but I never had any problems with her, besides her calling me 'Wolf Boy" instead of my name we got along just fine.Lastly was Celest. I never really knew much about her even though we spent so much time chatting in the caves.She was a neko with a strange sense of fashion.Dare I call her a hippie Jason would have knocked me over the head.The group got along fine until Anna left.After that Jason and Yulia started fighting and eventually broke up. Celest ended up hanging out with some other nekos and that was the end of it. Yulia and I were the last to leave but I really wasn't expecting everything to have gone so wrong.Sometimes I wonder If me joining them was the reason it all went pear shaped in the end.But I gotta admit I would live every moment of it again if I got the chance.I learned so much when I was with them and learned allot about myself.I walk around the camp for a while thinking about where all of them could have ended up now, I really hoped they were happy with their lives,even Jason.Sam catches up to me and walks behind me."Hey Rizo?You think we could do something besides strolling around the tents?"I stop walking and turn around."Now that you mention it I would like a change of pace.Sure I guess." She smiles and folds her arms."Great.We start tomorrow night kay?"She walked back to the tent in a good mood.I was happy about being able do do something different but she never mentioned what we were gonna do in the first place.I walked out of the camp and headed towards the lake.I was still curious as to learn about Suki so I was hoping I would find Ruby there.To my astonishment she was there in the exact same spot she was sitting in before.I walked up next to her and sat down."Hey Ruby, whatsup?"She turns her head and smiles."Hi Suki. Oh so you came to find me huh?I get nervous and don't answer."Well Why are you here?I know the lake is beautiful but that can't be your only reason for visiting me."I sigh and rest my head on my arms."Yeah. I guess so.I just wanted to ask you more about Suki."She giggled and lied down as well."Well what do you wanna know?"
