"I don't like him." I growled.

Arlis whimpered slightly but shook off his submition quickly. "Babe you can't decide that after one meeting."

I could hear his eye roll. "Don't roll your eyes at me!"

Arlis sighed. "How do you always know? Listen that boy is Knox's mate. There is nothing you can do about it."

I paced the room counting my steps to make sure I didn't hit a wall. I felt Arlis's hand on my arm nudging me to the side.

"Table." He explained.

"Thank you. He doesn't know anything about our world. He won't handle it well." I was sure of this.

"Then Knox won't tell him." Arlis decided after a long pause.

"What?" I asked shocked that this  was coming from Arlis. Of the two of us he was the loose parent.

"Your right. Austin doesn't understand why he's attracted to Knox he just knows he is. He doesn't understand mates. Austin could potentially leave Knox after finding out he's a wolf. The only thing we can do is make sure he doesn't find out." Arlis explained.

"How? Knox is the next Alpha. He will live in a house full of wolves and adopt pups. How could he not find out?" I asked Arlis.

"He could just not be the next Alpha. He wouldn't have to live in the pack house. He could adopt human children." Arlis argued.

"Would he be happy living that way? Away from other wolves? Away from his pack?" I argued back.

He was silent for a moment then I  felt Arlis wrap his arms around me and pull me into his strong chest.

"He would be with his mate. I don't know about him but I know that's all I would ever need. If I had to choose you over the pack I'd do it in a heart beat." He replied with confidence. He kissed my lips surprising me. "I dont want Knox to go but it's the only way. We're still young we can adopt another pup."

I sighed and rested my head on his chest. "Your right."
