You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." (Luke 12:40)
I woke up to screams.
No, not the human kind, the alarm-clock kind. The ones that drag even a bear out of hibernation. In this case, it was dragging a 14 year old teenage girl out of the comfort of her warm, fluffy, king size bed. I groaned, and tried to roll over, but that stupid thing wouldn't shut up! I groaned, and I groaned again, and I groaned a 3rd time. However, my unceasing amount of groaning wouldn't change the fact that my alarm was still going off. I rolled over and saw the time: 7:00. 'Great. Just. Fluffing. Great. I'm going to miss the bus now, fun!' I thought sarcastically as I quickly picked out my outfit for the day. I put on my cross necklace, bracelet, and earrings, picked up my book bags, and headed out the door. Right as I walked outside, my bus rounded the corner and picked me up.
I picked a seat next to my best friend Lilac. We were your stereotypical set of friends. My curvy figure and dark brown, medium length, frizzy, yet wavy, hair contrasted with her stick like figure and pin-straight blonde hair.
I zoned out, remembering the day we first met, but I got snapped out of La-la-land, and back to reality with Skye's hands flailing like dead fishing front of my face.
"Earth to Rye," she screamed, in my ear might I add, "Don't make me use your full name." She continued. I sense sarcasm...
I mock gasped, " "NO! You wouldn't dare!"
"Oh really? Ryedar.." she cackled like the wicked witch of the west. "AAAHHHHH!!! I'M DYING!!!!!" I said in between laughs. Our laughs, however, were cut short with the high-pitched, snobby voice of my ex-friend Jasmine.
"OMG.. You guys, like, totally need to grow up. Like, news flash! We aren't in 3rd grade anymore you annoying-"
"Wait, Skye," I interrupted her, "is it just me, or does Princess Jasmine actually think we want to hear her opinion?" She blinked 5 times, making her look like a goldfish, until her face turned a bright fuchsia, as she realized she had lost. "UGH!" She screeched, defeated. As soon as the bus stopped, she stomped like a little toddler up the aisle. Hmm.... I wonder if that's what she is gonna look like when she walks down the aisle... If ya know what I mean. ;)
Jasmine used to be our friend. She was a sweet girl, and had beautiful auburn locks with green eyes. She was my best friend for 4 years, 2 of which were with Skye, but then she met her first crush. They started dating, but as the days went on, she changed. She started by not really being present in our conversations, and then by just not talking at all. She started giving us dirty looks, and soon after, she started teasing us. Callum, her boyfriend, was just as bad, if not worse. I firmly believe he convinced her to join the dark-side with promises of cookies and cake. Ever since they started dating, back in 5th grade, she claimed that we weren't worthy enough to be her friend. Her whole appearance changed as well in 6th grade. Her natural, beautiful, auburn colored curls soon got transformed into pin straight platinum blonde strands of hair, her porcelain skin got transformed into a makeup caked mess, and her sweet personality vanished, as if the girl who I became friends with ran away and go replaced with this repulsive creature. As the bus stopped, I calmly walked off (unlike the other apes on my bus) waved to my bus driver, and walked into the school. I entered the orchestra room, put my violin away, and the day begun.
