I went to sleep that night with the knowledge that my mother didn't abandon me, that she didn't hate me. After a few minutes there was a slight knock on the door, as it creaked open in walked River giving me a gentle stare as he spoke in a tantalizing voice
"Eve is it alright if I sleep with you tonight?"
I stared at him with a look of bewilderment as I tried to read his facial expression, which I must say was pretty hard with that mask on his face. I lifted my hand to his face and slowly removed his mask. His beautiful blue eyes reflected the beauty of the the full moon. He slowly laid his head down next to me like a little boy would do with his mother.
Seeing him look so vulnerable made me want to protect him. I wasn't sure what I could do but I'll still do what I can. I don't know what the feeling was but I wanted to be with him. He had the feeling of being safe.
I drifted off to sleep with River a man well over 6 feet sleeping like a child next to me. Hoping that tomorrow will bring in new answers to all my questions.
