Chapter 7 : Bonding

As we walk down the sidewalk I realise I might have made a big mistake."When I said we should do something different I meant the two of us Rizo."Sam wasn't all too happy about me inviting Ruby along."Aww come on Sammy this is gonna be awesome."She glares at Ruby for a while then continues to take her anger out on me."So why exactly did you bring her with us in the first place?"I smile nervously and put my hands in my jean pockets."Well you see...Ruby has helped me out so much when it came to understanding this whole reincarnation thing so I decided...I should take her with us to pay her back."Ruby giggles and waves her hands in the air."So where we going dummy?"I look at Sam and ask her what she had planned."Since there was a town nearby I thought we could check out a clothing store but I only planned this out for two people."I sigh and take my hands out of my pockets."I'm sure whatever you planned will be great.So wheres the shop?"We continue to walk down the shops till we reaching a clothing store."Here?I guess I do need a new outfit." I wait for Sam and Ruby to walk through the door before following.I end up walking around in the men's section of the store looking at a few v-necks.I choose one and a few pairs of jeans, I grab some sneakers and and a plaid shirt.I end up waiting at the till point for the two of them."Suki can you help me?"I hear Ruby's voice a few iles over by the women's section.I walk over there and Ruby is holding some t-shirts and skirts."So can you help me choose which ones best to wear?" I take a step back."Err...wouldn't you fair better with another girl's opinion?"She giggles and hands me the clothing to hold."Well thats true but I dont think Sam would be honest about it all y'know."I sigh and follow her to the entrence of the changing room."You two just haven't gotten to know eachother yet."She takes some clothes from the pile and enters the changing room.I sit down on a chair still holding the rest of the clothes.I really didn't see the point in all this, I chose my stuff without needing someone else's help."Okay hows this one look?"She exits the changing room wearing a pocka-dot shirt and a striped skirt."Honestly?You look like a candy store."She sticks her tongue at me grabs some more clothes from the pile and gets back in the changing room.Sam eventually makes it to the changing rooms and sees me sitting there."Rizo your not suppose to be here.Your a guy remember?"I laugh nervously and explain to her that Ruby wanted me to help her choose some stuff to wear."Really?Give me that and go wait outside kay?I hand her the clothes and pick up my bags at the till point.Leaning on the store wall outside I wonder if we were gonna get something to eat.I was as hungry as could be but I wondered is Sam had a resturant in her plan. They finally make their way out of the store but something was very odd.Sam and Ruby were both wearing the same outfit."Suki don't I look amazing?"Sam starts walking down the sidewalk so I follow on."I don't need Rizo to tell me I look way better then you in this."I try to end the subject quickly."Hey Sam, Ruby any of you hungry?"They both stare at me and grin."Yeah, I'm sure Ruby's as hungry as I am." Sam walks ahead of me."Yep.And Thanks for offering to pay Suki."Ruby joins her as I walk behind them"Wait hold on a second!?I never said that."After a meal at the cafe that only seemed to exsaust me in more ways then one we headed back for the camp.We stroll down the dirt road carrying some bags."Hey Suki you mind if I keep that jacket you borrowed me?It matches one of the skirts I bought."Sam gives me a look that I try to ignore."Eh, sure Ruby..."I really wasn't expecting her to want to keep it but I thought that she would probally owe me something later so I didn't complain.Ruby departs from us a quarter way down the road leaving me and Sam to talk the rest of the way."You and her really became friends fast huh?"Sam sighs and pulls one bag over her shoulder."She might be a bit annoying but shes a good person."I smile and continue walking."I knew you couldn't hate her forever."When we're far enough from town I revert back to my inbetween form.My tail grows back out and my ears shift up and change shape, gaining fur slowly.As soon as my senses aline I immediately stop in my tracks.Sam stops a few feet ahead of me."Something wrong Rizo?"I walk towards Sam and looked in the tree tops."I know your there.I can hear you breathing."Sam looks up where I am focusing.There on a branch stands someone dressed in maroon wearing a white mask with red streaks going down the eye sockets."I thought you would notice me sooner.You should be on your guard more."I didn't know who he was but I didn't like the fact that he was spying on us."You here for something?If not then be on your way."He points at me and I can see a glow from inside his mask."I'm here to take you down."I am a bit surprised that he wants to fight me out of the blue but I was ready for the challenge."Alright Show me what you got."He stares at me for a while then folds his arms."Do you realise that this could be your very last night?You should say your goodbyes while your throat is still intact.He drops down from the tree and takes out a sword.I didn't know if he was joking or if he really wanted a battle to the death.I grin at the thought of finally getting some real action.A good comeback would anger him more."I might die someday but its definately not gonna be by the hands of someone who hides behind a mask."I wonder if that got him angry enough.I almost forgot Sam was with me though.I sigh and tell her to meet me back at camp.She gives me a worried look."Fine... but don't hurt yourself kay?"I don't answer and she continues to walk down the dirt road."Smart, she shouldn't have to see you fail.He raises his sword signaling that I must take my weapon out.I decide to test out my dual wielding."I just don't want her to see what I'm gonna do to you.And I'm gonna make this slow."I felt different for some reason, almost the same feeling I got before I killed the guy from a few nights before.He declares that I must take my choice of weapon out and prepare to fight.But he called me by name.He knew who I was but I really didn't care.I was just wanted to defeat him."Well I guess my name does get around even to those like you.I'm gonna enjoy making you beg for mercy."I was feeling strange when I took my katana out.I somehow gained a new way of holding my katana and I liked it.I wondered if Suki's memories were finally sinking in.If they were they certainly were helping me."There is no mercy in love and war.Next time remember that kay?" I had just about enough of talking so I let him make the first move.We engaged in battle, me dodging his attempt on wounding my shoulder and I try to take his head off.He ducks and jumps back up onto a tree branch.He was serious about this.I liked that.
