I love the ocean, I truly do. It one of my obsessions, one of those weird things that I love and wish I had all the time, oh if I lived by the ocean, how amazing that would be. There are so many things about the ocean to love. The beach, the sand, the sun, the water, they are all key aspects to my love and yearn for the beautiful ocean.

I love the sand. The way it feels between my toes, how it changes colors and textures as you add water. When it is completely dry it is thin and plain-like and runs a lot, usually white or a light yellow. But then when it is slightly wet it is good for building and thick, darker too. Then when it is completely wet it is heavy and thick and runny again, and a dark brownish color. This change is so interesting and intriguing. I love how it makes the ocean look so much more beautiful, and is symbolic. I love the way it never seems to leave, no matter how annoying and uncomfortable it may feel, it is so unique, how it gets in every little crack and spreads everywhere.

I love how footprints disappear so easily, how there is absolutely no trace of the past. The deep secrets it holds of all who have set foot in its gentle texture, the things buried deep under our feet, the mysteries hidden. I love how it is ever-changing yet ever-present, just like the ocean that rests above and adjacent to it. How one day there will be a huge hole dug, the next day only footprints, and next a little kid’s castle. How the shapes of the dunes are always changing because of the ocean and wind and the sedimentary quality of sand. I love that feeling when the tide rushes up towards your feet and as it returns to its oceanic home your feet slip a little lower and slowly become buried and eventually invisible, covered in thick sand.

I love the sun, in general, and even more so at the beach. The view of the sunset as it dips down into the ocean, disappearing until the next day, it is so beautiful and memorable. The colors and tricks the sun plays on the water are pretty and captivating. How the sun warms the sand up until it is a burn on your bare feet, yet if you just turn over the top layer the sand is nice and cool underneath. I love how the sun may be burning hot and unbearable nearby but a good distance from the ocean, but right by the ocean it is the most pleasant warmth on your skin. It is not scorching, but bright and warm. I also love how the weather is almost always nice, at least in the summer it is, how if it rains it is only for a short period of time or at night, and then the sun is back out again. When it does rain, I love the sight of the lighting above the ocean. I have never seen lighting so clear or beautiful before besides out over the ocean. The colors are extraordinary and the shapes are so different and new. I love how the sun is so tiring, how after spending a whole day in the sun all you want to do is go crawl in bed and sleep for hours. I love the smell of the sun on my skin, the amazing scent of summer and the beach.

I love that ocean breeze! How when you step outside your hair goes wild right away. I love how it’s unique to the ocean and can be found nowhere else. I love how even when it’s super strong it still seems calm. I love how it doesn’t bring heat or humidity with it either, but not chilling either, just the same temperature as the surrounding air. I love the sound of the breeze too, how it mingles with the sound of the waves to produce an enchanting and calming melody. I love how it also brings the smell of the ocean up to your nose. Wafting up the lovely oceanic scent like a gift.

I absolutely love the salty smell. How it hits you once you crack a window or open a door near the beach. It is so strong and one of my favorite smells. It makes me feel secure and I know that the ocean and beach are not far off and that I’m near paradise. The smell of the ocean and salt is refreshing and soothing to me. I love how it is carried gently by the oceanic breeze, washing onshore with the waves, travelling to your nose to say, hello, come visit the ocean! I find it so welcoming and it draws me in.

Of course, I also love the ocean, I love every aspect and detail it holds. I love the sound of the waves as they wash onshore, the whooshing, combined with the breeze puts me to sleep in no time. I could listen forever to the sound of the waves and feel the bliss they bring me. I love the waves, how just like the sand they are constant and always there, yet not the same, ever. The ocean is always there and always will be, but not always the same, it is changing every second, flowing. The tides are always changing, rising and falling twice a day each. Some days the waves are massive and frightening and possibly dangerous, but on others they can be calm, minute, and peaceful.

I love how just like the waves and motions of the ocean, the quality of the sea is always changing. I love how some days there is a large amount of seaweed or driftwood or sea animals that was onshore. But other days it seems almost as if there is nothing in the water, and even 20 feet deep you can still see the bottom. I love those clear calm days so much, I find them the best days to swim, and then you are capable of swimming further out into the ocean. I love how the ocean is teeming with life, yet sometimes seems empty besides the water. I love every creature that dwells in the ocean, and even more so when they are visible and I can see or watch them. I love the calm days where you can see everything and see all the little fish swimming around your toes, or the jellyfish floating around.

I love how the many different animals and plants thrive in the ocean. The ocean holds so many secrets unknown to man, and mysteries hidden deep in the depths. This is so fascinating and amazing that there is so much life in the ocean, yet we know only of a fraction if that life. I love the fathomless wonders of the sea, the unbelievable and unknown depths. I love how the ocean is so huge it is hard to grasp. I love the importance it plays in so many things. It is used in transportation, resources, and tourism. I love the beauty of the ocean. The immensity and how lovely it is, no matter what.

I love the ocean so much, everything about it is amazing and feels like paradise. But no matter how much I love the ocean, I will always always no matter what, without a doubt 100% love you so much more Jason! The oceans holds a beauty that you outdo a hundredfold. My love for you does not even compare to that of the ocean because well first of all, what does the ocean do for me or give me? Slight temporary joy. But you make me the happiest woman God has ever created forever by just my knowing that you love me and are mine forever. I love you so much.

I will miss you dear ocean, but I must apologize because I would much rather get back to my amazing boyfriend instead of staying here. Because I love him so much more, and he has much more to offer me, like a lifetime of smiles and  a great life full of love.
