Chapter 1
"Hazel!"
"Hm?" I turned around to see him walking towards me. Instantly I felt my heartbeat doubling. Ever since I realized I had a crush on him this was my automatic response whenever he is in proximity.
He stood there, towering over me, and catch his breath. "Hindi mo ako hinintay kagabi."
One thing I hate about him is his pleading eyes. I swear I could do anything he wants when he puts that face on.
"Ang ingay kasi kagabi. Nag-eenjoy ka ata kaya nauna na lang ako," I reasoned out.
"Dapat nagpaalam ka. Hindi mo alam kung gaano ako kinabahan nung hindi kita nakita."
I tried so hard not to blush like a tomato, "Sorry, nag-off ang phone ko. And what difference does it make? Hindi mo rin mapansin sa sobrang lakas ng music."
"Hindi mo sinabi na aalis ka na," he looked at me at sideways, "I could've walked you home. Baka may nangyari pa sa iyo pag uwi mo..."
"Kaya ko na ang sarili ko," I said. "And I don't want to ruin your fun."
We stood there in silence for a while but suddenly he's dragging me towards the exit of our school. "H-huy! Saan tayo pupunta?" I asked.
"Kakain tayo. I wanna make up for yesterday. Punta tayo sa Reim's, my treat," then he suddenly stopped. "Wait, saan mo gusto kumain pala?"
"Huh? No, it was really my fault -
"Hazel Santiago, saan mo gustong kumain?" he asked again.
"Ummm....okay lang man sa Reim's," I said, "Pero hindi naman talaga kailangan."
"Gusto lang kitang librehin. Sige na," he said. Well, it was more of a monotone but that's as far as he could get at asking favors.
"Hm, fine. Pero ikaw ang babayad!"
He smiled then, the one that made my insides melt, so I just rolled my eyes and we headed to the exit.
