It's been ten years and I'm still in the south of France. Right now the flowers are starting to bloom, bringing their sweet smell with them. I've been living in a cottage in the countryside on a large farm. They grow grapes to make wine here. The family that I'm staying with is quite kind to me. It was hard at first, trying to learn to control the thirst, learning how to use compulsion on the townsfolk. The worst part is hurting the innocent people.

Although when I first turned the part even worse than the thirst was not being able to go in the sun. I found this out on my journey from my family's home to France. It was when the sun started to come up on our birthday after we were turned. I had been running for hours and was becoming tired, so I slowed down when I was approaching a village on the coast of England. The closer I got the more the sun rose, and the searing pain got worse. I then realized that it was the sun that was causing me all this pain, so I ran to the closest house to where I was standing. It just so happened that this house didn't belong to any human.

The house belonged to a small family of witches, who were not happy with my arrival. But the leader, a women named Belle Bennett, said that I could stay till night fall as long as I didn't hurt anyone. She knew more about what I am than I did. I spent the day with her, trying to learn how to control myself. She also explained that if I were to have a daylight ring, then I could walk in the sun again, but the only way is to get the ring from a witch. So we made a deal for two daylight rings, just in case. I just had to promise that if her family or descendants are in trouble, I will help them to the best of my ability.

So I left that night and continued to France, stopping to feed every once in a while. I really do like the countryside, it's just so peaceful and calming. I have spent the last years making fine wine and selling it at the market in town. I have also been working on my French, which is fluent but still has an English accent to it.
