Marinette's POV

Then I realized I shouldn't have asked that.

I forgot for a spilt second and couldn't control the question from coming out of my mouth.

Chat Noir's expression turned hard as he looked at the floor.

"Sorry, sorry, just...forget I ever said that." I tried to take off a bit of pressure.

I failed. I felt the same weight of awkwardness upon us.

"Can I use the bathroom real quick?" He asked. His voice sounded a bit of in a fury.

I nodded and pointed at the quest bathroom I had.

After he stood up and walked to the door, I started to pace.

Why am I such a Dory?

How can I be so hallow?

Why can't I just do the right thing for this one day? Nothing ever goes to plan, everything always fa-

"Uh...Ladybug?"

I stopped pacing near the sofa and looked at Chat, who stood there awkwardly, yet with a look of amusement. "Whatcha doing there?"

"What do you mean?" I asked, thoroughly confused.

Then I realized that I'd been thinking out loud.

I groaned and flopped on the couch. "I'm a mess."

He exaggerated and flopped next to me the way I did. "Yeah, but you're a cute mess."

I smiled and blushed a little. How we go from a moment of tension to this, I don't know.

"Either way I'm way too much extra for this world,"

He chuckled and looked at me. Mind you, my hair was hanging over my face. I looked back at him through the corner of my eye as he said, "Yeah, well, I always think of the 'extra' and the use for something bigger." (I just made that up I deserve a Nobel Prize)

He pulled back my hair and nudged me so I would turn around. I obeyed and felt my hair being moved around.

"You can braid?" I asked with curiosity.

I saw him shrug in the television's reflection. "Yeah, being a person like me teaches me a few things."

I nodded, softly, so I wouldn't yank my hair.

After a few moments of silence, he placed the braid over my shoulder. "There. Now you have a lovely French braid."

I turned around to face him and grinned when a sudden thought came to mind.

Wait...

Do they call it a French braid here in France? Or is it just a braid?

"I don't know," I mumbled.

Chat raised an eyebrow.

Was I asking you?

"Yes,"

"What the-" Chat started.

How do you know I wasn't  talking to your imaginary friend?

I gasped. "How dare you bring Poppy Pig into this!?" I put a hand over my heart dramatically.

I then noticed Chat's "wtf" look.

"This isn't over, No Name."

"Uh, should I be worried?"

"Maybe you should, maybe you shouldn't, who knows?" I went with the mystical hand movement after that.

He smiled while shaking his head. "I gotta go, see ya Bugaboo," he stood up.

"Don't call me that!" I said in an annoyed voice. "Walk safely!" I added in an innocent voice.

He gave me a thumbs up behind him and left.

I closed the door and decided to spend a good hour or two on my phone doing who knows what.

I had expected a relaxing evening on my phone, but instead came up a huge news banner on google saying, "LADYBUG AND CHAT NOIR SPOTTED: COULD THIS BE THE BE THE BEGINNING OF LADYNOIR?"

Well, it could've been worse.

That was, until I scrolled through the story and dropped the phone when I saw a video someone took showing Chat and I walking into the apartment compound.
