My Brother's Worst Enemy

Chapter Nine ( Jade's POV )

I've been at Milly's a while now . We haven't got to talk much , I can't even think straight . Milly just keeps comforting me , i'm not sad . Just tired , tired of having to be a part of things I have nothing to do with and not knowing why . I could be a target for so many things and Alex hasn't told me anything . " You hungry hun ? I have some noodles, potpies , hot pockets , anything is down there . " Milly asked peeking from her bedroom door . " Nah , i'm fine . " She closed the door back . I pulled my phone out and dialed Tony . I know I can't tell him much but I don't want him mad at me still before I leave for Lord knows how long . He didn't answer , so I dialed again .

" Yes Jade ? " he snapped before I could say hello .

" Are you still mad at me ? " I questioned .

" I was never mad , what you need ? " he continued to talk with an attitude .

" I was calling to tell you I was going to stay with my uhh ... Aunt out of town for a while . " I stumbled over my lie. I hesitated to even say something , I know Alex told me not to . Unlike him I can't just up and leave .

" Really ? " he sounded a little more interested in what I was saying .

" Yeah , I just thought I would call and tell you before leaving . Regardless of your emotions. "

He just got quiet .

" Well , when you coming back ? Nevermind, when you leaving ? " he asked .

" Tonight ." Milly walked in the room with a half eaten hotpocket and sat next to me on her bed .

" Ion know what to say ? You know where you going ? " he asked more questions . I feel like i'm doing him how Alex does me when I beg him for answers .

" Bae , I wish knew the answers . My mom just told me my aunt was on her way to get me . She had already packed my bags and pretty much planned everything . " I sighed deeply . I hated lying to him about something so simply .

" Damn , alright . Be safe and have fun . Tell me when you get where you going . " he seemed upset , but it is what it is . We pretty much wrapped up the convo and hung up . Milly had finished her hotpocket and sat there watching me talk on the phone until I was done . " And that was ? " she asked with a weird smirk . I looked at her out the corner of my eye and mumbled tony's name . " Did you say Tony ? " she asked scooting closer toward me . " Yeah . It was Tony . " I said looking down at my phone screen . " OhMyGlob , JADE didn't Alex tell you don't say anything . " she stood up and started pacing . " I didn't say anything . I just couldn't leave with him mad at me . I'm sorry . " I said laying back on the bed . " Why would he be mad at you ? " she asked standing right infront of me . " Welllll ..." I was cut off by head lights shining outside that was followed by a honking horn .
