Ok.. I'm home sick from school and believe me it sucks! I don't like school but there isn't really much to do. I'm not much of writer since I'm 14, but there's nothing else to do so I might I well just write sumthing.. Anyways here this goes if anyone is actually gonna read it. haha
If Only In My Dreams
I quickly made my way out of the locker room, after changing into my black gym shorts and tight red tank, and made my way towards
the track. Why today? I absolutely hated having to run the mile. It's not that I am slow, because I'm not. I, Shay Larkson , am actually the fastest girl in my grade. It's not really surprising because I have a runner's figure. Tall, average weight and a good amount of leg muscle, yep that's me. As I said, I'm a good runner but I still hate the mile. It's a waste of my valuable time.
As I made my way to the starting point of the race, I spotted my friend Erica's shinny red locks bobbing up and down as she was doing jumping jacks. It was the funniest sight. No matter how much she tried, there was no way she would ever be a good runner. She just wasn't the athletic type, though I love her anyway.
"Hey Shay! Have you heard the good news? Jared moved into out gym class!" she whispered as I started running in place beside her.
"Oh my god! Jared is in our class now!" I almost yelled. I covered my face to hid the fact that I was blushing. I've liked Jared since 6th grade, when I first met him, but now it's 11th grade and he still doesn't even know I exist. Well we are good friends, but he doesn't look at me in the same way that I look at him so I don't count that. We have been best friends since we meet in middle school, and he is constantly teasing me for everything. At least I get to spend a lot of time with him though. Life majorly sucks sometimes.
"It's so obvious you like him you know. If you don't want anyone to know, you might want to hid it better Shay." Erica said. I was about to reply when Mr. Janks blew the whistle signaling everyway to line up. Erica and I took spots right next to each other on the track, even though I will be far ahead of her in no time. I looked to my left and quickly wished her good luck. When I looked to my right my jaw dropped.
Standing next to me was Jared, but that wasn't what made me so shocked. It was the person flirting with him that did. My sister! My very own sister was flirting with him, and it didn't help at all that his eyes were glued to her chest. My blood started to boil. I must have made a weird noise when I gasped for Jared turned to face me.
"Hey are you alright Shay? You look like your gonna pass out."
"Yah that's exactly what every girl wants to hear idiot." I grunted.
"Hey you know I'm just kidding sweetheart, but still you look off. Maybe I'll actually beat you for once."
"Good luck with that," I laughed."Hey I have a proposition for you. If you bet me I'll do whatever you want for a week, but If I beat you, like always then you gotta follow me around all week, carrying my books like a slave." I smiled knowing he would never back down from a challenge. Instead of answering he just gave me and smirk, that I knew meant yes. Coach J blew the whistle once telling us to get ready. We took or starting positions on line. The second whistle sounded and we took off. This is sure gonna be one interesting week.
With that my happiness ened, and my dream quickly shifted.
"Shay! Shay! Are you even listening to me?" My annoying sister's voice startled me, quickly waking me from the best dream ever. What's better than dreaming about your crush for the whole night?
Nothing. Even though I could still hear my sister's voice, she was a pain in the neck so I usually just ignored her.
"Get your no good, emo ass out of bed before I flip you out." Ugh she drives me to the edge of insanity. Why can't she just leave me alone for one morning! I was having the world's best dream, which she ever so kindly decided to wake me up from.
