"Amber!"
I blinked my blue eyes, not even completely aware of my surroundings, lips tugged downwards as a hand waved in front of my face. It belonged to Alexia, the girl my parents had set me up with. I must have zoned out, fortunately.
"Hello, are you in there?" Her obnoxious, nasally voice rang through my ears as I tried my hardest not to cringe, avoiding her bright green eyes.
They reminded me of him.
"Yes, I'm fine." Clearing my throat, I placed my hands on the table in front of me, nodding my head obediently. I still refused to meet her gaze, but that didn't bother her at all, as she just continued to talk. My fork stabbed at my broccoli, shifting it around on my plate.
Mother had arranged a date for us, like I had stated earlier, a blind date. We just didn't click, because my thoughts were consumed by him. He kept me sane throughout this whole dreadful dinner, because I knew that I would see him soon.
"-Amber, are you even listening to me right now?" Alexia raised her voice, two males around our age turning their heads to stare at our booth, and I instantly shrunk back into my seat in embarassment.
What was she talking about again?...
"Yeah." I lied right through my teeth, flickering my eyes up briefly before looking back down. I couldn't do it. I didn't want to be here with her, I wanted to be with him.
If only he would let me in.
"What did I say, then?" Her nose upturned at me, glowering down at my body, her brown curls bouncing as they framed her heart-shaped face.
"Something good, I hope." I muttered, her face turning into one of offense as her jaw dropped, eyes widening, when my phone went off.
Thank God.
I flipped my black samsung galaxy out of my front pocket, not even checking the caller ID as I pressed it to my ear.
"Hello?" I kept my gaze on Alexia, a look of disapproval on her face as she tapped her foot impatiently.
"Hello there, love!" His voice almost caused me to swoon, seeing that it sounded like melted butter. So fucking smooth.
My eyes widened in shock, quickly glancing away from my disastrous date, biting my lip, "I uh... Hello, mom?"
It was silent on his end, the only sound was his heavy breathing before he spoke again, "Are you on a date right now?"
"Mhm..." I hummed out, gnawing on the tender skin of my lower lip, desperately wanting to feel his tongue trace it.
"Can you escape? For me?" Harry's voice turned lighter than it was when he first spoke, if that was even possible. My little sunshine.
"I can try, what's wrong mom?" Trying to keep up this charade was hard, given I could feel her gaze slicing through me like a knife.
"Well.. I wanted some time alone. Just got home from work, and I wanted to cuddle my baby," His sultry tone and seductive purr proved that he wanted more, and I would gladly give him everything he desired. But he couldn't give me the one thing I desired the most. The world to know what goes on behind closed doors.
"Dad collapsed while getting out of the shower? What? I'm on my way!"
"Mm... Good. The door is unlocked. I love you, Am."
"I love you, too! Goodbye." I clicked my phone off, it taking everything in me to not blush and it give it away that it definitely wasn't my mom I was just speaking with. Pocketing my phone, I spoke up, "My mom just called, and I gotta go. It's an emergency-"
And I was alone. She fucking left me here.
With the check.
Golddiggers, I tell you. Can't live with them, period.

The door creaked open slowly as I entered the Styles residence, being greeted by absolute darkness and silence, the only light being emmited was from the den. Pulling my evening dress down a bit, I sauntered myself further into the house with a confident sway of my hips, head held high.
My baby. I was going to see my baby. I haven't seen him in quite a bit. The last time we had gotten alone time together was last Saturday, when he picked me up after dinner when another one of blind dates failed. We played it off, saying he was my friend. But, God, was that far from the truth.
When I peaked into the den, Harry was huddled by the fire, wrapped in my pink glow-worm blanket that I had left months ago. He had my shirts and pants and other stuff that I had left for whenever I was over, holding them in his arms as if they were a comfort item, his brown curls matted to his head. He looked so innocent and pure, holding my things and cuddling them to his chest, letting out a soft sigh of content.
Admiring the big baby in my vision, I made my way to him, my arms instantly wrapping around his neck and my chin settling on his shoulder. He didn't jump or flinch, just leaned back against me and stared ahead at the burning embers. "Hello, baby."
His lips curled up as I spoke those words, his hands dropping the items into his lap as he lightly grabbed onto my arms. "Hello, Amber. How was the date?" He let out a small laugh, finding it ironic. I did, too. Me and Harry were an item, yet we both were going on dates. Why? Well, to cover up the fact that we were both straight. Being heterosexual was very frowned upon in most places, and resulted in death in others.
"Eh. The stuck-up twat left me with the bill, and she ordered like the whole menu. I'm broke." My lip pouted, as I unwrapped my arms from him, moving to his side and curling into it.
"Poor baby bear." A frown fell onto his lips as he took the thick blanket, drapping it over both of our bodies, as he pressed small kisses to my jaw and lips. "What can I do to make it up to you?"
I stayed silent for a while, contemplating that before an idea instantly sparked in my body, "Well, there is one thing..."
His eyes sparkled in realization, nodding our heads in unison, our voices joined together as one as we both answered.
"Hot chocolate?"
