Chapter 1

I know it sucks but just deal with it

Veronica POV

I logged onto YouTube. It was a bright Saturday morning and I had the whole day to myself. I decided to publish my video that I had done the other day and maybe do a livestream. I went onto my account DeadGirlWalking. I saw that I had gained a few subscribers that night. Now I was at 5,346,637. I smiled and clicked publish on my video.

J.D. POV

I sat on my rickety bed and played Flappy Bird. UGH! I HATE THIS GAME BUT I CANT STOP!!! Then I saw something that made me stop. I had gotten a notification that Veronica had posted. I scrambled onto my floor and clicked the notification.

I saw Veronica's beautiful face appear on the screen. I laughed and smiled at all of her funny jokes and skits that she had put into the video. She really was the only thing that made me happy.

I really wish that she knew I exist, but I'm just a fan. One person out of 5,346,637 people. I sighed as the video ended and Veronica waved goodbye. I stood up and threw my phone on my bed. I was about to get up when my dad barged in and knocked me to the ground.

Dad - Pack your stuff Jason!
JD - Why?!
Dad - We are gonna go to a new house!
JD - What?! Where?
Dad - Ohio! I already got a school ready for you! Let's go!

My dad slammed the door shut. I cringed and got a suitcase from the den. My dad always made me move. We had been living in this crummy apartment for 6 months, and I was finally about to be able to live in a house again. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't excited.I packed it with stuff. I had thrown my phone in there when I realized something. I tore the suitcase open and grabbed my phone. I went on Google and searched for where Veronica lived.

Ohio

OHIO!!!! IT DIDNT MATTER WHERE!!! I was going to be in the skate state as Veronica! I threw my long coat onto my body and threw my phone back into my suitcase. I scrambled down the stairs and into the car. It was about 8PM and the sky was getting darker by the second.

I had no friends, no memories, nothing I loved that was in this town. I wouldn't miss anything and I never felt attached. I never bothered to plant roots or bother with people's names and faces. All I was going to kiss was the 711, but nay town usually has a 711, so I will be fine.

I plugged my headphones back into my phone as my dad started the car. I looked out into the night as I heard Veronica's beautiful voice run through my ears. I sure hope that I will be able to see her someday. I felt another ring when I looked down. I had a notification that Veronica had started a livestream. I quickly clicked on it and smiled when I saw what was before me.

Veronica POV

I love doing live streams and listening to all the sweet things that my followers always have to say! I was so lucky to have them! I stopped at a comment that had been written by some guy named DeadBoyWalking.

DeadBoyWalking - I'm moving to Ohio right now! I hope that I live near you!

I laughed and said that I hope that I would be able to meet him someday. I loooked down at my phone and saw I had gotten a text from Martha.

Martha - We on for movie night?

I sighed. I couldn't say no to movie night with my bestie. I said goodbye to my followers and shut the camera off. I wondered if that boy would actually live near me. Or if he went to my school. That would be kinda weird to have a fan live near you.

JD POV

I screamed when I saw that Veronica had noticed my comment. She might notice lots of people's comments and say nice things to other people, but she had nervous noticed me before. I felt my heart start to beat faster and faster.

Dad - Everything okay back there?
JD - Oh! Yeah! I'm fine, I just, found out that 711 got a new slushie flavour! You know how much I love my slushies!

My dad laughed and nodded and continued driving. I sighed and continued to watch Veronica. She had to go to watch a movie with her friend. I wish that I could come over to her house. I wish I could snuggle and cuddle with her. I wish I could hug and kiss her and give her all the love in the world and she would take all the sadness out of life and....

Uh, I'm just like any other fanboy.

Veronica POV

Martha clapped when the credits rolled down. She sure loved The Princess Bride. She got the DVD and placed it back into the box.

Martha - Don't you just love happy endings!
Veronica - Yeah. It's getting kinda late, you should maybe start thinking of heading home.
Martha - Yeah, you're probably right. I'll see on Monday!
Veronica - And I get to pick the movie next weekend! I've already seen The Princess Bride to many times!
Martha - Ugh, fine! Bye Veronica!
Veronica - Bye Martha!

Martha walked out the door and left me alone in my house. I sighed and walked up to my room. I got up to the kitchen and made myself a sandwich. I turned and saw a bright light out of my window. I ran up to it and saw a car pull into the house next to me. This must be the people who bought this house. An older man and a kid who looked about my age got out of the car. The kid had a long black coat on and hair that covered most of his face. It kinda reminded me of what that boy had said on my livestream.

JD POV

I got out of the car and admired the look of my new house. It felt good to know that I actually lived somewhere. I don't know why, but I had the feeling someone was watching me. I turned my head to the house next door and I thought I saw a figure in the window disappear when they saw that I had looked in their direction. I put it off and walked into my new house.

I ran up the stairs and fell into the big empty area that was going to be called mine. I looked out the window and into the darkness of the early morning. I laughed as the air blew through my hair. I picked up my phone and put on a song that Veronica had sung.

I looked up into the sky and had only one thing in my mind.

Somewhere, out there, Veronica was there.

Who knows how close she could be to me.
