I ran, the pounding of my feet on the forest floor mixing with the pounding of adrenaline in my ears. I could hear them now, I could hear the loud thumping of feet approaching fast. I couldn't run for much longer they would catch up, they were bigger than I am and they have been training. I'm sure they could run for miles but I was already tiring. I looked desperately for somewhere to hide but I was trapped to the rough stone track. huge pine trees towered over me giving me no option but to keep running.
I didn't dare to look behind me at my attackers, I had to keep my focus on running or I would fall flat to the ground. Black was beginning to blot out the edges of my vision. I couldn't keep going, I had to stop. My breaths were hard and fast, but nothing was making it into my lungs, finally I couldn't take it any longer and the stone covered ground came up to meet my cheek.
Three large dark smudges approached in my vision, I tried to move, I tried to crawl away, I tried to scramble into the cover of the undergrowth. But I failed. A mans voice echoed in my ears, it was muffled but I could just make it out through the thumping of my heart in my ears.
"You sure shes got it?"
The blackness started to spread further through my eyes.
"search her" it was a threatening female voice this time. I tried to lift my hand to protest, but it was just met with dull, empty blackness.
