School had never been good for Kim Taehyung. The work was too hard, his teachers were too bitchy, and he was too difficult. So when he was moved right to the back of the class for 'disturbing the learning atmosphere', he knew he had hit the jackpot. Sitting at the back of the class was like a get out of jail free card. The teachers never called on you and no one was behind you to peek at what you were doing on your phone. So Taehyung went quite happily to the back row, mostly full - he wasn't the only difficult child in this class of sixteen year olds- and the smug grin on his face only fell a little when he found that the only free chair was next to a boy he hadn't really seen before. He wasn't new, Taehyung knew that for sure. If he was, there would have been a huge uproar and he wouldn't be sitting at the back, squished into the corner, separated from the rest of the class.
Walking closer and sliding into the chair, Taehyung started to notice the interesting orange color of the boys hair, and how it curled around his small, rather cute ears. Taehyung found - to his great amusement - that even when he was seated, this quiet boy was so much smaller than him. He now realized he didn't really care that he hasn't met this kid before, he just wanted to get to know him. "Hey.. You aren't new are you?" He asked in his deep voice, looking over and grinning at the fact that he could see right over the other males head. It didn't hurt to ask.
Orange hair jolted as the boy turned to look at him, and Taehyung just now saw the full, rather plush lips and the dark eyes that Taehyung personally found interesting, that made up his features. Contrary to popular belief, Taehyung was not gay. But that didn't stop him from appreciating the attractiveness of the boy before him. It wasn't like Taehyung himself was unattractive, in fact the opposite, but to him this boy was certainly ahead in that respect.
Now, the boy shook his head, not offering any word of an explanation or even a name, and Taehyung wanted to fix that. "I'm Kim Taehyung, but you can call me Tae if you want to." The boy nodded this time, and Tae noticed that he was twirling and twisting an old, torn up eraser between his fingers (which he saw were very small), and tilted his head to the side. "What's your name?" He pressed a little more, deciding that he wanted to get to know this quiet boy.
There was a pause, the only sound around them being the general bustle of the classroom and the teacher occasionally yelling across the room at someone making paper airplanes. Then the boy spoke up. "My name is Park Jimin. You can call me Jimin." His voice was soft and sweet in comparison to Taehyung's deeper, stronger one. Tae broke into a smile. The name suited him, and at least they had gotten somewhere in conversation.
"Jimin is a nice name." He said, flashing his signature box smile. Jimin returned a half smile, turning back to the rubber in his hands. Taehyung saw that the tips of his fingers were tinted black and dusty from the material from pressing down on the eraser, and he frowned lightly. Jimin seemed nervous, nervous and quiet and shy. He wanted Jimin to open up a little and have some fun. Taehyung thought for a while, looking across the classroom and having an idea.
"Hey, what are you doing after school?" He asked quickly, turning back to face the other male. Jimin just looked at him in confusion, shrugging. "Well... I was probably just going to do my homework and read or something.." He replied, tilting his head slightly and it shouldn't have made Taehyung think of a small, cute puppy but it did. He just responded with an eye roll, leaning back in his chair and resting his knees against the desk. "That's boring... Is that really all you would do?" His tone was teasing, he didn't want Jimin to think he really thought he was boring. Jimin shrugged again, not meeting his eyes.
