The ground shook under our feet as gunshots filled the morning sky. Smoke rose to the clouds as whole buildings fell. My squad was to infiltrate the capitol's base of operations. There were three men and two women; all who knew the risk they were taking today. As we walked, I saw many decapitated corpses in our path fallen soldiers, innocent bystanders. The capitol showed no mercy. Sending mutt after mutt and bomb after bomb; this was a nightmare. Our men were jaded from this war; every soldier was exhausted beyond help.

The squad walked for miles; the only reason we had gone undiscovered was our active camouflage. The active camouflage was our last weapon of infiltration. The design was so convoluted that the capitol itself was astonished to see such technology in use. All five members of the squad were wearing it. Our mission was to infiltrate the capitol's B.O.P (base of operations) and fry all of their systems with one mega E.M.P (electromagnetic pulse). This would disable all of their weapons: Bombs, mutt creation, and even peacekeeper communication. If we failed on this mission, the war would have an indubitable loss. This mission would be the precedent to a new age, good or bad.

BOOM! The sound of an explosion caught our attention. A mushroom cloud filled the sky to our far right, screams echoed across the land. One of the women in our squad, Natalie was her name. Natalie watched the building fall with dread in her eyes "We have to do something," she stared at the ground; tears were in her eyes "People are dying!" I approached her and put my hand on her shoulder

"If this mission goes as planned, we won't see another day like this," Natalie shrugged off my hand and returned to walking. I thought I had said something disingenuous but I realized that I just made her come to her senses.

We finally approached the capitol's base; it had walls of iron ten feet high and whole fields of security surrounding it. But we were going to bypass all of it, we were going under. We used what was called a terra generator. It looked like a gun but it was really a type of drill; it had the capability to turn entire mountains to dust with the click of the trigger. Oh, and here's the fun part, I got to use it. We stepped back ten feet and immediately started drilling. A few minutes later we were directly under a large corridor. We were in; now we just had to sneak past the capitols guards and enslaved aficionados. Why wouldn't the avoxes just run I thought to myself had they become masochistic? I pushed the thought away and became focused. Our general didn't accentuate the fact that there were about fifty-billion guards here and just five of us. One guard was casually scanning a corridor. CLONK! Jeremy, another member of our squad, hit him in the neck with the butt of his gun; he'd hit him with such momentum that the guard had gone unconscious. The guard fell to the ground; no alarms went off, no one was caught. We jogged down the corridor to find a small control board. Scylla quickly de-activated her camo and started to type on the small command board. She turned to me "I can get some of the security systems offline from here but I'll have to hurry. Can we take the time?" She had the Potential to give us a safe route and to kill us right here; I contemplated my choices. I had the volition in this group, being the leader and such. I nodded, Scylla quickly typed in some codes and fried most of the cameras around us. I heard the sounds of synchronized steps; peacekeepers. I pulled Scylla from the computer and activated her camo and mine too. The squad quickly fled through the way we came. I saw a sign that said "KEEP OUT!" and of course, I saw it as an invitation. We sped through the door and found ourselves in a giant control room. I pulled out the EMP and activated it. There was a smile on my face, it would only take around tem minutes to go off and destroy all of their systems. I turned around to the sound of a hiss and a wall of fire. When the fire extinguished Scylla was gone and what remained was a skeleton. All four of us quickly de-activated our camo and ran to her. "Everyone stay together; we just have to live long enough to let this EMP go off! C'mon!" SSHHHHH! The sound of acid dumping made me flinch. When I turned to my right Natalie was melting into some sort of liquid. BOOM! BOOM! My two men were shot dead. I stepped back into a wall. I slid down and got into fetal position. A man walked in the room he was just as tall as I was. He walked up to me slowly. Whispered me a sweet goodnight and slipped the syringe of poison into my neck............
