Jesy's POV

It was probably the 30th time I'd been to Leigh-Anne's house that month. She wasn't there each time I went. Either that or she was just devotingly avoiding me.

Can't say I blame her. What I said was wrong. She trusted me and I repaid her in this way all because I was too afraid of what would have happened that night. I was thinking about me. No one else.

I tried looking in her windows, like a creep, but I still didn't see her.

Everything looked the way it did when I acted like an idiot and slammed the door on her. Even the flowers I brought her that day were in the same place, all brown and shriveled.

So I drove all the way to her work. That was also the place she received treatment. So someone had to know where she was or what happened to her.

There is a petite woman in the front desk. Ivory skin and blonde hair.

"How can I help you?" She had a strong accent and a smile.

"Yeah, um, I'm looking for somebody."

"Do you know what their room number is?" Yeah, really strong accent.

"Actually no. I'm looking for someone who used to work here. Maybe you know them?"

"Maybe. Tell me their name."

"Leigh-Anne Pinnock?" I said it more like a question.

There's a long pause.

"How do you know her?" The smile on the woman's face disappears.

"I'm her.. friend. I haven't heard from her in such a long time." Panic set in my stomach.

"I don't know her. Sorry." A lie.

"That reaction you had tells me otherwise." I raise my eyebrows up.

Her name tag reads out Perrie Edwards.

She does know Leigh-Anne. Leigh has talked about her a million times before.

"Perrie," I start. "I fucked up big time. And I'm sure if you now know about her illness, you also heard about me. I need to make this right."

"Why should I tell you anything? Now that I think about it, I remember you coming in and out of this hospital. To do what?"

"To see Leigh-Anne." I answer the question.

"She told you and not us and then you selfishly kept it to yourself."

"That makes no sense. I didn't know who you were and honestly I'd be more of a dick if I broke my promise to her and told anyone else."

I watched Perrie take a deep breath. I could tell that she was annoyed. I'd be too.

"Perrie, I didn't keep her illness a secret because I wanted to be the only who knew. I tried time and time again to get her to tell her family. But I now see why she wouldn't want to do so.

And then I fucked up. I didn't mean to hurt her. I can imagine Sairah has went on and exaggerated the story. So I need to see Leigh-Anne."

"It's going to make her upset to see you." Perrie argues.

"But she'll be more upset to think I never even tried to make it right."

She didn't say anything yet and only eyed me down. She was probably debating her decision.

"She's in another unit of the hospital."

"That's not very descriptive."

"Look into the trauma unit. Second floor. First room to the left. You didn't get that information from me."
