"i like your costume, drew," says a kid from room 6 named henry, who is dressed as hercules. "thanks henry! i like your costume too!" drew replys while maintaining his fast speed to get to the cafeteria for breakfast. drew never got breakfast at school. momma always has eggo waffles or oatmeal for him. instead, he gets a chocolate milk. but he was not running to the cafeteria for a chocolate milk; he was running to see abby.

he wanted to be by abby's side all day so his classmates could envy them and their friendship. "ow, ow, ow, ow, ow," drew whispers as he ran, causing his astronaut's helmet to hit his head again and again with every giant step he took.

"drew! you look like a real astronaut!" abby giggles happily when she saw him in his brand new costume. drew stopped in front of her to catch his breath, "yeah! you do too abby! look, momma got me the one with the real nasa tag!" abby nods with a big grin through her round, bulky, white helmet.

drew watches as abby dumps her candy pile onto his desk, "wanna share?" drew smiles at abby's unnecessary kindness. the class had a costume contest where each kid's costume is judged by the others. whoever likes the costume throws candy at their feet. no one threw candy at drew's feet except for abby and alex, who threw it at drew's head.

i should be an astronaut every day. my helmet blocks out thrown things and i can't hear people as well.

"thank you abby." abby smiles, displaying her chocolate covered teeth. drew giggles and shakes his head at her, "oh! did you ask your dad about going to the park with me?" abby's chocolate teeth were suddenly gone along with giddiness. "uh... yeah. my daddy said no..." drew frowns, "oh. why?" abby looks at her freckled hands, chipping off the freshly painted pink nails.

"no he didnt say why."
