“The wedding is set for the summer of your eighteenth birthday Maylyn” My mother said. “I don’t see why you want to keep postponing it, you should be excited.” She added with a look of confusion plastered on her face.

“What do you mean I should be happy about this?” “ I don’t want this wedding, you do.” I replied, letting the irritation sound in my voice.

“Why are you being so difficult May?” “Why can’t you just be happy that you are marrying someone as great as Emmett?” She asked sounding tired.

“Because mother. My heart isn’t with him and I don’t want to marry because you make me.” I said to her, the anger making my voice waver. She stared at me trying to hide all the emotions that crossed her face. She pursed her lips and walked away, leaving me staring with my mouth wide open. I waited several seconds before following her out.

In the hallway I ran into Emmett. I haven’t been able to look him in the eyes since I found out the news. I don’t know if he has feelings for me but I still don’t want to hurt him. The only person I told is the housekeeper Esme.

“You need to tell him May, both of them.” Esme said to me.

“I know but I don’t want to hurt Emmett or Marshall.” “What am I going to do Esme?” I said to her, with my face in my hands. “It’s going to ruin them.”

“Yes it might, but if you wait to tell them longer it’s going to hurt them more.” “You need to just rip the bandaid off.” She replied, grabbing me and rocking me.

“So how do I tell them?” I asked. Looking at her with that please help me look. She reached over and wiped a tear from my eye.

“Don’t cry mija you’ll be fine. Just breathe and don’t wait too long to tell them.” Esme said to me, letting a look of worry flash over her face. “Well I gotta get back to cleaning.” “Out!” Esme said with a heartfelt smile on her face. “God I really don’t want to do this.”  I thought to myself as I walked out of the kitchen. I walked out into the garden. That’s my favorite spot to be at.

“Well hello there gorgeous.” Said Emmett with a wicked smile on his face, making me jump.

“Oh my goodness you scared me.” I replied with a smile. “What are you doing out here?” “This is my special spot.” I said with a teasing tone.

“I saw you walk out here and I wanted to talk to you.” “We haven’t really spoke to eachother.” “ I feel like you’re avoiding me.” Emmett said to me with a sad , but worried look on his face.

“Honestly I have been avoiding you.” “All the stress about the wedding is making me feel a little sick.” I replied, trying to hide the nervous tone from my voice.

“Are you okay?” “Did you see the physician?” Emmett asked.

“Yeah I went a couple weeks ago” I replied with tears streaming down my face.

“Why are you crying?” “What did he say?” “What’s wrong?” Emmett asked. Holding me in his arms as I cried.

“H...H...He said that i’m pregnant.” I said making me cry harder. He slowly released me, got up and walked away. “Emmett wait!” “Please, let me explain!” I yelled as I got up and ran after him.

“What is there to explain?” He said whirling around to face me. “You and I both know that baby isn’t mine, so what is there to explain.” “You cheated and got pregnant.” “I cheated, but didn’t get her pregnant.” He said. His face changed from being very angry to regret.
