John Laurens had been shot. He collapsed to the ground as his attacker ran away, throwing the gun somewhere. John pulled out his phone from his pocket and dialed Alexanders phone number, he held the phone up to his ear, clutching where he had been shot. He waited for Alexander to pick up his phone, John wanted to hear his voice one last time. "Hello?" Alexanders voice came through the speaker. "Hey babe, what're you up to?" John asked, straining to keep his voice normal. "Just got out of work, why?"

"No reason."

"Okay then, what're you up to?"

"Calling you of course."

"Oh haha, anyways, can you pick up Phillip today?"

"Ah, sorry babe, I'm gonna be busy."

"Okay, but then you have to make dinner tonight." John started coughing violently after Alexander's sentence. "John honey, are you alright? Did something happen?"

"Sorry, i'm not feeling too hot."

"Okay, well then, in that case. I will pick up Phillip and we will make some soup for you alright?"

"Alright." John hissed at the pain in his stomach.

"Are you sure you're alright John?" Alexanders voice sounded worried.

"Mhm"

"Okay..."

"Alexander?"

"Yes?it "

"I love you."

"I love you too my dearest, John."

John smiled, he looked up, he swore he could see Peggy, who had died from sickness a few years back. He could see his mother, the only one in his family who supported him. Tears flowed from his eyes as he said "see you later" to his husband and hung up. He dialed 911 next.

Alexander arrived home with his child Phillip, it was 4:00 pm. His husband john called him an hour earlier and told him he wasn't feeling well. Phillip dropped his bag and ran to the kitchen. "We're making dinner for Pa, right dad?" Phillips young voice called. "Mhm." Alex was tired, but he didn't mind making dinner for his sick husband. Alex and Phillip got to work, they made a soup Angelica made when she visited.

About an hour later the soup was finished, now all they had to do was wait for John to come home. Half an hour later Alex called John, no answer. Twenty minutes later he texted Lafayette and Mulligan to ask if they had heard from him. They didn't know either. At 6:20 Alexander had called everyone he knew. Phillip had already ate dinner and was watching television.

By the time 7:00 rolled around Alexander was frantic, he had called John a total of 30 times and each time there was no answer. There was a knock on the door and Alexander practically flew to the door, Phillip turned off his show and went to the door alongside his father. Alexander flung open the door, hoping John lost his key.

Instead, Alex opened to door to reveal one male and one female cop. At this point Alexanders heart dropped into his stomach, he invited the officers in and they sat down in the living room. After a few moments of silence Alexander spoke up "Its about John, isn't it?" Alex asked. The male cop answered "Yes, i'm sorry-" Alexander cut him off, "He's dead isn't he?" The female cop spoke this time. "Yes, the doctors did everything they could to save him. He was shot." Alexander processed these words as Phillip clung to him, tears rolling down his cheeks as well.

Although they were sitting in the living room, it didn't feel like the name "Living" fit. It had seemed that all the life had been sucked out of the room, out of the people. Out of the world, nothing seemed to matter anymore. Alexander soon was shaking with sobs, Phillip cried with him, Alex wrapped his arms around his son. Alexander choked back cries, he heard Phillip whisper to him. "So, Pa won't be coming home...?" Alex answered in a low whisper, "No, he isn't..." Right then, Phillip released the most heart breaking shriek Alexander had ever heard. The cops started crying too, even they couldn't stay strong through the despair that consumed the room.

That night, after hours of crying beside Phillip, Alexander forced himself to call Lafayette and Hercules. He asked them to tell everyone, after a minute of hearing Lafayette cry by Hercules, they agreed. That night, Alexander nor Phillip got much sleep. Phillip didn't go to school the next day, and Alexander didn't go to work. They stayed home, crying, going through john's belongings. Lafayette and Hercules came over and grieved with them. Theodosia and Burr came over as well, Theo comforted Phillip they both now knew what it was like to lose a parent.

Two days later a knock arrived at the door, an almost lifeless Alexander opened the door. It was Angelica, all the way from London, damn. "I came as soon as I heard!" She was crying, Eliza had also come along. Angelica and Alexander sat on the couch mourning and sorting out funeral things. Eliza and Phillip tried to count to ten in french and play the piano. Eliza broke down crying with Phillip.

Ten years later, Phillip suffered the same fate as his father. Theodosia died from a kidnapping. Shortly after, Alex and Burr grew closer. Only a few years later, Alexander committed suicide. Everyone else tried to carry on with their lives, but it was almost impossible. Even for Thomas Jefferson, a man who hated Alexander. Next, Hercules died in his sleep. Ten years later Lafayette died as well. Angelica and Eliza lived out their days making Turtle plushies for terminally ill children and mentally ill children. Angelica died of old age, Eliza was next. Aaron Burr was the last to leave the Earth.
