High school.
It's a place of stress, zits, relationships, and drama. We all go through it so don't pretend it's not true. And pretty much every school is the same. You have the popular clique, the jock clique, the nerd clique, the druggie clique, and last but not least, me. I don't fit into any of these groups. I'm just... average. By image, I look like a basic white girl. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a person who looks like everyone else, not there own style, just, basic.
Once you get to know me, however, I'm my own being. I don't like to consider myself human. Most humans are corrupt and awful creatures put on this planet to create havoc and chaos. That is, of course, with the exception of my best friends. I have three of them. Let me tell you a bit about them.
First we have Michael Ryan. His name rolls off the tongue so easily you hardly ever hear someone call him by just his first name, Michael. It's always Michael Ryan. His hair is dark brown and it complements his olive, Italian skin tone, which is offset by his deep green eyes. He is the captain of the schools football team and has the broad shoulders to prove it. His ego is bigger than anything known to mankind; or at least that's what he makes you think. However, I know better and have come to the realization that he's just a walking talking teddy bear. All you really need to know about Michael Ryan is that his favorite color is grey because, as he explained it to me, "it comes in so many variations that one can not say for sure which shade suits him or her best. Kind of like how I don't have an actually favorite color because by picking one color I would be subjecting myself to a mainstream correlation of questions that would be asked of me whenever I meet someone new." Weird right? Never thought such words could be strung together by a football player, let alone Michael Ryan. That's just what this stupid world has led you to believe. That a football player is automatically an incompetent fool. But that's ok. That's why we have people in the world like Peyton.
Peyton is different. There's really no other way to describe her. With platinum blonde hair and welcoming brown eyes, it's hard to miss her petite build ask she walks down the halls. Her wardrobe differs from I'm-going-to-dye-my-hair-black kind of look to the don't-touch-me-I-just-had-my-nails-done. However, that's what I and almost all of Lancaster High School admire about her. She is considered to be in the popular group. The number of her Facebook friends has been so high that Facebook had to have an update just to fit all the numbers in. Ok, so maybe not that much but you get the point. In our little friendship circle she's probably the most down to earth one. She can see right through a person and knows when they are lying or being untrue to themselves. It creeps me out sometimes to be honest. I think it kind of creeps us all out, actually. Except Jackson.
Jackson is the smartest person in our school. He's even smarter then the senior's valedictorian. That says a lot seeing as how we are sophomores. He has light brown hair that he spikes up in the front with about a gallon of hair gel. His bright blue eyes make it challenging not to make eye contact when you talk to him. I think what angers me about Jackson is that he doesn't even try. Knowledge just kind of sticks to his noggin. It's his way of getting away from his home life. Granted, not everyone leads a perfect life but his was terrifying. Jackson's parents are always fighting, drinking, and abusing him. He has really bad anxiety and panic attacks because of it. The attacks are actually kind of scary. He gets stiff as a board and hyperventilates. But yet, even though he has so many problems constantly running through his head, Jackson manages to keep us all sane. He's like a brother to me. I'm definitely closer to him than I am to Peyton and Michael Ryan.
Our high school experi-
I totally forgot! You don't even know my name! How impolite of me. My sincerest apologies. My name is Bryan. I have blondish hair and greenish blue eyes. I'm average height and average size. I think of myself as a disorder to society. No matter what I do something seems to go wrong. The only thing I can occasionally do right is play the piano. But that's still a work-in-progress.
So as I was saying, our high school experience, I think, is what really gave our town a new look on things. Looking back on everything that happened in our-what seemed like eternity- high school days, I can see that we really made an impact on our little town; we sent a nice wake up call on society. Hopefully you'll think the same.
