Natalie

I wake up to the annoying alarm clock that read 7:00 AM. Oh great, school. I rolled my eyes and walked to the bathroom. As I was brushing my teeth, I hear someone opening the bathroom door.

"Someone's in here," I yelled.

There was no response. Then I remembered Aunt Jenny left a while ago. Oh my god, if Aunt Jenny left for work, who would be here?

The door fully opened and I sighed in relief.

"Sorry if I scared you, kiddo. I came back because I left my phone in here," she giggled while taking her phone.

"It's fine, aren't you late though?"

She looked at her watch and her eyes widened. Rushing down the stairs, she yelled, "Call me if you need anything! Love you!"

I picked out my clothes, grabbed my bag and left the house. I went to the cemetery and found my parents' graves.

"Good morning mommy and daddy... I brought you some flowers today. I know it's not much, I didn't have a lot of money on me. I miss you so much. It's been 4 months. It's so hard living without you guys here with me," I start tearing up.

I wiped my tears and looked at my phone that read 8:03 PM.

I cleared my throat and looked at the gravestones, "Sorry mom and dad, I'm late for school but don't worry, I'll come back right after."

I give a faded smile and start to walk to school.

After School:

I push the doors and walk out of this prison. Everyone has given me the same looks for these past few months. They think I'm a sad lost puppy, asking me if I'm okay... every single day. And I have to keep lying, because no one really wants to know if I'm okay.

I walk to the cemetery and sit on the grass near my parents.

"Well, school was a bum. I know I keep saying this but I really miss you," I sighed.

"I don't know if I can keep living like this, every time I lie to someone it makes me feel awful. It's annoying and it's ---," before I can finish my sentence, I hear footsteps behind me.

I turn around and see a man walking the other way in the distance. I got creeped out so I left.

I start walking home, looking back every two minutes to make sure there's no one following me. I finally reach my house and search my bag for my keys. When I found them, I inserted the right one into the lock and starting turning it.

Once I was about to open the door, I felt a piece of cloth over my mouth. And before I could fight back, I felt an ache in the back of my head and that was the last thing I remembered, before everything blacked out.
