Age 11

"Tyler Honey, I'm home." Mum said from the front door.

I ran to her with open arms.

"Hey M-mum." I say.

"Who's th-that?" I ask looking behind my mother.

There stood a tall muscular tan man. He had a very large dark coloured beard. He smiled very big at me, but I didn't reciprocate.

"This is James." my mum said.

She turned around towards this James person. "James, this is Tyler, my son."

"Hello, son." he said.

"Don't c-call m-me that." I glared at him.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that." he looked uncomfortable.

My mum looked at me with shock written all over her face.

"Tyler, be polite."

"Do you have money," I asked turning towards the man.

"Oh sure." he said digging into his pocket. He pulled out a hundred dollar bill. My mum smiled.

"How much money do you have in your bank account?" I asked.

He smirked. "More than enough to count."

Of course.

I tilted my head towards the bill in his hand.

"I don't want your money. But she does." I said looking at my mother.

"Tyler, how dare you?" she scolded.

"You seem like a very nice person, James. You really do." I pointed a glare at my mother. "But you won't last long. She changes men like she changes her rings. Which is a lot considering she does it every time she marries a man. You're like the what the fifty-third? Right, Mum?" I said staring straight at her shocked features.

"What happened to Michael, or Nathan, or Shannon, or Christopher, Justin, Jake, Dan? What happened, Mum? Or right, you got them into your pants. You got them to fall for your lie. You got them to put a ring on your finger. Then out of nowhere you just decided that 'I don't think it is working anymore.'" She was beyond stunned.

"Was it not Justin who you told that I didn't like him, so you think you should divorce? 'My child comes first.'" I continued. "Didn't you report Michael for abuse when all he did was love every single part of you? You are liar and a schemer." I looked back to James. "I'm sorry you fell for her trick. Don't worry. It'll be over soon." I turned, and walked to my room, shaking my head.

I used to be happy.
