In the town behind the trees
Beyond the rocky road
Far down a path engrossed in woods
And past the forgotten grove
lies a hidden house
Long forgotten and old
Beaten down and and caving in
Yet a fortress to behold
A century old and worthless
Yet worth so much more than goldDown the path less traveled by
Less traveled by indeed
Worth nothing yet worth more than gold in forgotten memories
And down the creaking halls and behind the shriveling weeds
Lies the aftertaste of a forgotten life
Filled with lust and greed
Filled with sorrow and regret
With the memories from a story that the towns folks would forget
For all that would lie in the house
Is rust and grime and mold
Rotten worn down furniture
And stories never toldThrough the rusty beaten walls
And down the rotting halls
Lie secrets to be never told
And memories to forget
Of pain and laughter growing old
Of sorrow and regret
For in the house that's rotten
Lie lifetimes long forgotten
And beyond the growing mold
Lie lifetimes long forgotten
And stories never toldFor in the town behind the trees
Beyond the rocky road
Far down a path engrossed in woods
And past the forgotten grove
lies a hidden house
Long forgotten and old
Beaten down and and caving in
Yet a fortress to behold
A century old and worthless
Yet worth so much more than gold
