The Dress

I looked back at Ki, Mark, Jake and Alex, wondering what the hell was running through their heads.

Mark was whispering sweet-nothings to Ki.

Jake was drooling over me and had his hands were in his lap.

Alex was whispering to Jake, probably saying weird things.

I shrugged and looked at myself in the mirror.

Lace covered my arms and chest, white lace came to my toes and it was a sweetheart neckline.

Ki got up and straightened the bottom of the dress and smiled.

"This is the one," she turned around and looked at the boys, "What do you think gang?"

Jake sat straight up and nodded. Alex did the same.

Mark gave me a thumbs up and smiled.

"This is the one." I smiled and stepped off of the stand. I went and changed out of the dress and had a clerk put it in a sleeve to protect it.

We all walked out and got in the car.

Just as we all sat down, Ki pulled a box off of the floor.

She opened the lid revealing a pair of glass heels with gold details. Over the ends and heel, flowers danced up the heel.

I gasped and stared at her.

"Are... Are those my... My shoes?..." I asked, picking one up out of the box.

Ki nodded her head and smiled.

"The rest of the day, I want you to practice walking in them." Ki gave me the other shoe and I slipped them on.

We all got out and walked into another store.

I may have fallen a few time, but I got back on to my feet and continued to walk.

"You're doing good." Ki smiled as she watched me pass a step.

"Yeah."

"Just wait till Jack sees you." She winked and I giggled.
