Chapter 2

Immediately, I'm under attack by hugs and kisses, congratulations, and happy birthdays from every side and angle. I did my best to return hugs and say my thank yous when necessary. It takes me a good twenty minutes or so to say hello to everyone there. After I'm free to go, I look all over for my friends. Finally, I see them hanging out in the corner of my huge living room.

Waving until they see me, I begin to fly fast over to them so no family member can stop me to chat. In doing this, I veer quickly away from a small table set in the middle of the room. Sadly, I do not see who was coming around the table at the same time. I didn't see anyone until it was too late and we collide head on.

Laying in a heap of arms, legs, and wings, I'm in a daze for a moment. After my head stops pounding, I try get up to see who I crashed into, but when I move I cry out in pain. I turn my head and see that someone was laying on top of my left wing.

"Get off!" I spit out angrily. I attempt to push the person off but they were way too heavy.

"Calm down, Izzie. I'm getting up." a very familiar voice laughs.

"Sean!" I exclaim, and then I burst out laughing. Looking at his face, I see him smile. I've been seeing that smile since first grade when we meet. We instantly became friends when I told him I liked his brown hair and his dark green eyes. He had laughed and said he like my hazel eyes, too. After that we became inseperable and the closest friends, and nine years later nothing has changed.

Quickly flying up, Sean reaches down his hand to help me up. Grabbing it, I say, "I'm so sorry, Sean. I wasn't looking where I was going. My bad."

Just laughing at me again, Sean replies "No big deal, Izzie. We all have those days." I laugh again and we fly over to our group friends together, who were now in the corner of the ceiling.

"What took you guys so long?" Damon asks jokingly as we make our way up there. "I hope you two are behaving yourselves."

"Shut up, Damon." Sean says as he punchs him in the shoulder. Damon is always making jokes about me and Sean 'dating'. Everyone thinks that. I mean, why is so hard for people to believe that a girl and a boy are best friends, and nothing more than that?

"Ouch man. That hurt." Damon whines in mock pain.

"Shut up both of you." Kayla says, one of my best friends.

"Yeah, or I will be forced to kick both of your butts to the moon." adds Zoe, my other best friend.

That makes the five of us burst out laughing like a group crazy psycopaths.

"Okay, okay," Kayla tries to say in between gasping for air, "everyone stop laughing or I'm going pee my pants."

"Oh well we don't want that now do we." Damon says with a smirk.

"No we don't." Kayla snaps, but her threat is lost to a fit of giggles.

"We are the biggest group of dorks on the face of this earth." Zoe says.

"Thanks for stating the obvious, Zoe." Damon smirks.

We all agree and finally calm down enough to breathe. Then we start talking about nothing and everything, just like we always do. That's how it was with me and my friends. We can talk about anything, no matter how embarrassing or stupid it was. I remember when Kayla started talking about bra sizes when the guys were with us. She didn't seem to think it was weird like the rest of us. We ended in another laughing fit. I chuckled to myself thinking about that day.
