As the young dragon slayer looked out the window of the guild she casually blew a loose strand of her long blue hair out of her face. Her 19th birthday was just last week and that meant she had to find a mate. Whenever a dragon slayer turned 19 they had to find a mate. To no surprise Natsu pick Lucy and Gajeel picked Levy, but that was obvious to the entire guild by that point. But Wendy didn't even have the slightest clue who her mate could be. Her thoughts were interrupted when the doors of the guild burst open and a certain fire mage walked in. Romeo had just gotten home from a solo mission out in the country and everyone was happy to see him, except Wendy. It's not that she didn't like him they had been best friends for a long time now, but recently she had started feeling different around him. Not being able to form complete words, mind going blank, face heating up, that kinda stuff. But she couldn't figure out why she was like this suddenly. Out of nowhere, the 20-year-old fire mage sat down next to Wendy by the window. She had been so distracted by her thoughts that she didn't even notice him until he said something.
"Hey, Wendy." He said in his normal kind voice
"A-ah!" Wendy screamed as she fell off the chair she was sitting in shock.
"Wendy, are you okay?!" He worried as went over to help the girl.
"Y-yeah I'm fine, thanks. I just got scared, that's all." The girl said as she got to her feet blushing madly. It didn't help the situation that he always left his chest and abs open like another fire user in the guild.
"You wanna sit down?"
"Umm, no. S-sorry I have to go. I just r-remembered that Carla needed me for something, Bye Romeo." The young girl said as she ran off blushing.
Romeo was confused on why she left in such a hurry but was ultimately glad. He didn't know how much that conversation could have gone on before he was the one blushing at her.
He had always found the girl as a close friend both being similar in age and personality. But recently she seemed to be avoiding him everywhere he went. And I don't know if it was him or her but Romeo noticed that started looking a lot cuter on the rare times she was talking to him. Either way, he decided to go back to his apartment for the night. It had been a long day and the sun was starting to set in the sky. He said good-bye to everyone in the guild and started walking home.
As he was walking home from the guild he stopped at the market to get some food and supplies. As he was playing his eyes caught a flash of blue from behind a corner. When he walked over to see what it was nothing was there. He shrugged and continued walking home and summed it up to a trick of his eyes.
After listening and hearing that Romeo left Wendy relaxed against the back wall of the building. She was breathing heavily at almost being seen by Romeo. She wasn't stalking him or anything. She was just getting some herbs at the market and when she heard Romeo she quickly ducked behind the wall, obviously not fast enough. She stood up and decided on asking the other girls at the guild about why she felt this way around Romeo tomorrow as she started walking back to Fairy Hills.
