Who am I?

Talon's head throbbed with pain as he tried to make sense of his surroundings through his blurry vision.

"Talon? Are you alright?"

When his blurry vision cleared up, he saw a blonde girl staring back at him. She looked familiar, but he couldn't really say for sure who she was.

"Everything is spinning..." He lay back down. "Who are you? Where am I? Actually, who am I?"

Penny sighed. Great, Talon probably has a concussion or something. She patiently replied, "I'm your friend Penny, this is my house, and your name is Talon."

"What happened? Why can't I remember anything or how I got here?" There was a hint of panic in his quiet voice.

Better not to let him panic now until he remembers everything, Penny thought. "We were just walking down the street when a vehicle swerved near where we were standing, startling you. You fell and hit your head, so you can't remember everything...yet." Talon's panic decreased a little. He got up and looked around. There was a warm scent of brownies in the air and the room was nice and calm.

Maybe I should make the most of this, Penny thought. "My uncle is out, but he said it's alright to take some rest here first," Penny explained, she felt sort of bad about lying. Talon nodded hazily, his mind trying to grasp onto any foggy memories Penny's explanation could have raised. He got up and rubbed his sore head. Talon looks really cute without hair gel too, Penny thought for the hundredth time. She still couldn't get over the fact that Talon didn't remember her, or that he was supposed to be evil, and how she didn't know if this amnesia was permanent or temporary.

"So...not exactly in the mood to answer any questions?" Talon asked. Penny nodded, thankful for his understanding. "It's fine, I'm sure things will come back to me sooner or later."

"Want some brownies?" Penny asked. She led Talon to the kitchen, where Brain sat at the table with his breakfast. Talon casually remarked, "Hey, you've got a pretty cool dog, what's his name?" If he can't even remember his immense hate for Brain, his mind must have took quite a hit! Penny wondered. "Earth to Penny..." Talon waved.

"His name's Brain!" Penny snapped out of her trance. Talon stared at her funny for a moment, but he turned his attention to the brownies baking in the oven.

"Who baked these heavenly brownies?" Talon exclaimed. Penny pointed to Brain, who had a suspicious look on his face. Penny fetched the brownies from the oven and offered one to Talon after cooling them. Talon bit into it and made a show of praising the heavenly chocolatey goodness of the brownies. After a while, almost all the brownies were finished.

Both Talon and Penny eyed the last brownie. For a moment, Penny saw a mischievous glint in Talon's eyes, but it vanished. "Want it?" Talon offered politely.

"Gladly." Just when Penny reached out for it, Talon swiped it from the tray and gobbled it up.

"Too slow!" Talon declared.

"Talon! You'll never get away with that!" Penny laughed. She started chasing Talon around the house. Brain rolled his eyes at their antics. He thought to himself that sometimes he was the most mature in the house, even when Gadget was around. Penny had a wide grin on her face as she dodged furniture and chased Talon around the house. Talon was surprisingly agile and fast for an amnesiac with a sore head. He leapt up four steps on the staircase that led to the second floor of the house with ease. Penny followed suit. At the top of the staircase, Talon was nowhere to be seen. Penny's confusion turned into a moment of panic. What if he hurt himself? Oh god, did he remember his life and escape? She stepped back..and toppled over the edge of the top stair. Losing her balance, she tried to grab the banister but she missed.

"Gotcha!" Talon appeared from behind and caught her in his arms. Penny sighed in relief, her cheeks burning at the same time. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, was all she could think. She got to her feet and hurriedly thanked Talon in a series of incoherent noises. Penny excused herself and made her way to her room. Burying her face in her pillow, she let a wave of mixed emotions flow over her.
