THE STORY

The girl sat in the diner staring vaguely at nothing as she tried to convince herself that the murder she was about to commit that night was the revenge her mother would have wanted. This girl was a forty-five year old woman who suffered from  hypopituitarism. She wore a black hoodie and the red lettering across the back of her hoodie read REVENGE. The girl's name was Ivy Cavanaugh and the name was cursively written on a letter which she held in her hand that was left behind after her beloved mother was atrociously murdered. On that same hand she held a fake ID card that had the name Laura Benson written on it, alongside a date of birth of a sixteen year old and a picture of Ivy.

She had been cultivating this plan for fourteen years ever since her now boyfriends father, relentlessly murdered Ivy's mother, her boyfriends name was Andy. Unfortunately for Ivy; Andy's dad passed away a few years after her mother did; so she decided to go for Andy as he was his father's only child. Her plan was going perfectly as she was able to convince Andy that she was a sixteen year old girl name Laura.

Ivy took a sip of her beer as she smirked calamitously. She reached for her backpack and brought out a portable tape recorder, she pressed a button on it which constantly replayed a masculine voice saying 'that's for you Royal!' 'What a better way to get away with murder than making the victim think that they were murdered by their rival enemy and not by the girl, or should I say woman, that they were in love with' Ivy thought to herself.

There was one thing that was trying to persuade her to change her mind; it was her conscience, but she killed it the same way she killed her way to Andy's heart.

It was time for Ivy to become Laura and meet Andy at the jump; she took off her hoodie and took a cab to the Jump. Andy couldn't live without cigarettes; Ivy took his pack of cigarettes so he would then leave the jump and she could kill him. Her plan worked perfectly, He left the jump. Ivy walked quietly behind him; she was now in her hoodie with her hood partially covering her face.

The coast was clear so Ivy walked behind Andy and pushed him; he turned around and punched her; she retaliated by punching him back. They had a back and forth of punches and pushes. Andy was soaked from the rain; so he forcefully pushed Ivy towards a wall and then he glanced at her face for less than a second 'wait! I know you' Andy said, with that reaction Ivy immediately plunged the knife into Andy's chest and pushed him away from her as she  walked away from Andy in a speedy pace, she stopped at a few distance away from him and pressed the button on the portable tape recorder 'that's for you Royal!' went the recorder.

Ivy ran as fast as she could back to the jump.

Surprisingly Ivy didn't feel guilty she just still felt incomplete; killing Andy didn't bring her mum back from the grave. Salty chilled liquid pushed it's way out of Ivy's eyes and rolled down her cheeks, she felt like the rain was a sign from her mum showing her disappointment.

Ivy left the 'jump' dance to look for Andy's body. She found him in the doorway a minute past midnight. "Oh God! How did he get here? Is he still alive?" she thought, she knelt beside him and said "Andy, it's me, Laura."

He did not answer her. She backed away from him, uncontrollable tears springing down her eyes; was her dual personality coming back? She ran from the alley. She did not stop running until she found a cop.

When she found a cop she didn't know whether to tell him that Andy was killed by her or by a Guardian.

And now, standing with the cop, she looked down at him. The cop rose and said "He's dead." "No shit!" she thought. She stood in the rain and said nothing, looking at the purple jacket that rested a foot away from his body.

The cop picked up the jacket and turned it over in his hands

"A Royal, huh?" he said.

She looked at the cop very quietly; she said "His name is Andy".

The cop slung the jacket over his arm. He took out his black pad, and he flipped open to a blank page.

"A Royal," he said. Then he began writing.

Ivy knew from that moment her plan was complete, she knew that every other thing was complete except her. She felt like she had just wasted 14 years of her life cultivating a plan that just made her feel worse about herself.

Ivy went back to the diner and stared vaguely at nothing for 7 hours, the more Ivy stared the heavier the rain fell.

Two minutes later two cops barged into the diner with rage, they had come to arrest every single Guardian they could find, in order to know who killed Andy. One of the cops paced towards Ivy, A slight and startling tingle tiptoed down her spine; her palms began to sweat almost like a never ending flowing river, "Hey ma'am" the cop said to Ivy while he gently adjusted the loose straps of his gun saddle, shivering feverishly Ivy replied with a British accent, "Yes officer"; the cop stared straight into Ivy's eyes as though he was trying to read her thoughts and feeling "Sorry to bother you ma'am, you just looked weirdly familiar", the cop said as he strolled away from Ivy. Ivy released an enormous breath of relief as she smirked malignantly. "The cops are looking for the Guardian who 'quote and unquote' killed Andy, but the gag is I DID".
