"We need to go out on another scavenge." Katie sighed, laying across the table.

Hunk whined, nudging her foot. "Pidge, you almost got you foot in my goo!" She stuck her tongue out at him, but moved her feet.

Shiro chuckled. "Well, where should we go?" He asked as he set his tray aside. "We've already cleared out the surrounding cities and towns. We'd have to go miles out."

Keith nodded. "Yeah, but we do need more gas."

Katie waved her hand at Keith. "Not what I was thinking about, but yeah. That too. I need more supplies and we need more clothes and blankets. It takes too long to make clothes and blankets, and now even longer than last year because we have more people. Also, our fruit trees sucked ass at bearing fruit this year, so we should find nearby orchards or something. Also, we need to find pigs. We had to kill the last two because of that disease and toss them over the wall. All that sweet pork has been wasted. Maybe Olkari has some pigs to spare. We should go to them."

Lance sniggered. "Well, who're we sending out?"

"Should we send out a whole group?" Allura rested her chin on her palm. "Maybe just one person."

Pidge shook her head. "Not a whole group. That won't be necessary. However, one person isn't enough if they're going so far out to Olkari. Two, at least."

Allura hummed. "How long do you think they'll be out for?"

Pidge shrugged. "A week or so, depending on how you have to cut through, how many Walkers or Runners you cross... All sorts of factors."

"I'll go." Shiro muttered. "Give me a list and I'll head out."

"I'll go out with him!" Allura gasped, clutching Shiro's arm.

The other four blinked at her. "Uhm," Pidge sat up. "It's your week to be in charge of rotations. Remember? You start in two days."

Allura blinked, then wilted. "Right. So, who will go with him?"

Keith sighed and folded his arms. "I would, but Red's leg is still healing and she hates it when I ride any of the other horses. If we're going out so far, I'd think you'd be taking your horses."

Shiro nodded, then looked to Hunk and Lance. "Guys?"

"I have rotation duty after Allura." Hunk shrugged. "If there's a possibility it could take longer than a week, I'm not going to risk it."

Lance nodded. "I'd use that as my excuse, except for I'm after Hunk and you guys could be back way before that... Oh, right, I'm on water duty this week, then crop duty the next."

Katie crossed her legs and raised her shoulders. "Guess I'm coming with."

Shiro furrowed his brows, unsure. "I could get someone else."

"I'll be fine." Katie shrugged, then hopped off the table. "We should get ready to go while it's still morning, then head out in the afternoon."

Shiro sighed. "Alright."

Shiro adjusted the straps on his saddle, Kuro huffing as he swished his tail. "I know, buddy." Shiro mused as he pat the stallion's neck. "You haven't been out in a while. Sorry about that."

Ezmeralda whinnied behind him.

"Still not ready, Shiro?" Katie teased as she lifted herself into her saddle, her backpack strapped to her.
