The front door opened that night to reveal Calum who was just returning from Lucy's house. He was stunned to see four teenagers huddled up on one of the couches, playing video games on Ashton's ipad.
Their laughs filled the entire house and he saw his mates seemed to be getting on great with Prudence.
Calum cleared his throat to get their attention, saying, "What are you guys doing?"
"Playing Grand Theft Auto." Luke replied.
Ashton took out his phone to check the time and his hazel eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, we've been sitting here for hours."
"Maybe we should take Prudence home now." Luke suggested.
Ashton shook his head. "Or maybe she should sleep over."
He remembered seeing sleepover on her list.
"I have to ask my mum for permission first." She told him. Grabbing her phone out, she unlocked it and dialed her mum's cellphone number. Her mum answered after a couple of rings. "Hey mum...Ashton and I were just wondering if I could sleep over at his house."
From the other end of the phone, Mrs. Carrigan told her, "Sweetie, its not right for a girl to stay in a house full of boys."
"Mum...They're good boys, they'll take care of me. Besides, you can trust me to make all the right choices." Prudence explained.
Ashton took the phone from Prudence and brought it up to his ear. "Hello Mrs. Carrigan. Please let Prudence stay over. I promise I will take care of her and protect her with my own life if necessary. Don't worry."
"I don't know, son..." Mrs. Carrigan said.
"Please." Ashton, Luke and Michael said into the phone.
Martha sighed, "Alright, but I'm taking Lucy over there too."
"Thank you." Ashton said with a grin.

There was a knock on the front door, Calum rushed to answer it. Lucy walked into the house carrying two pillows and a container of pills.
Handing them to her sister, she said, "Mum says to take your vitamins."
Prudence eyed the pills and shrugged her shoulders. "I think I'll be alright if I skip them for one night."
"You take those pills, Prudence." Lucy said in an authoratative voice.
The sixteen year old sighed. "Yes, Lucy."
Lucy handed her sister a bottle of water she held in her hand and Prudence took her pills.
She yawned, "I'm tired. I think I should go to sleep."
Ashton grabbed a hold of her hand and led her to the hallway. Leaning into her, his face just inches from hers, he grinned a mischevious smile and whisper. "How about we prank the others before you go to sleep?"
She smiled nervously. "Okay."
It was something on her bucketlist anyway.

"So here's what we're gonna do..." He explained.

"Ah!" Her screams startled everyone in the house. But Ashton, who was sat in the living room with the others, smiled knowingly. "Ashton, help me! Come quick."
Ashton got up from his spot on the couch, the others did the same. Five teenagers rushed to Prudence, following the sound of her voice as she continued to scream.
When they reached her, she pointed into the bathroom, rushing to Ashton's side. Ashton held her close as she continued pretending to be afraid for the sake of the prank. "There's a spider in the bathroom." Calum laughed.
"Kill it, Ashton." Prudence said, looking terrified.
Ashton walked into the dimly lit bathroom slowly. There were towels and clothes all over the floor. He reached out to pick up a towel and Calum said, with his phone in hand; he was recording everything. "Don't pick up the towel-"
Suddenly, everyone jumped back when Ashton let out a scream. Prudence watched as the other's ran away, Michael screaming, "Oh my God!"
Ashton's laughter rang through the house and Prudence soon joined in. Having noticed it was only a joke the two had pulled on them, they began to laugh as well. With a chuckle, Calum said, "You're a cock."
"But you guys completely fell for it." Ashton said, laughing so hard he was unable to catch his breath for a second.
"I guess we did." Michael cracked a smile.
"We fell for it because we didn't think Prudence could ever prank us." Luke added with an amused laugh.
The group of teenagers went into the livingroom, where they spent most of the night telling scary stories. At one point, they had told so many that they were too scared to fall asleep. But Prudence slept soundly, leaning her head on Ashton's shoulder comfortably while the two sat on the livingroom couch.
He didn't move, not wanting to wake her, but he did press his lips against her forehead, kissing her goodnight.
For now, it seemed to him that things were going in the right direction.

THE SCARY STORIES BIT ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME AND MY FRIENDS WHEN I SLEPT OVER AT ONE OF THEIR DORMS.
WE WENT OUT TO DINNER.
THEN WE SPENT THE ENTIRE NIGHT DRIVING AROUND THE MOUNTAINS, TELLING SCARY STORIES. WE RETURNED TO THE DORMS PAST MIDNIGHT AND CONTINUED WITH THE SCARY STORIES.
WE GOT SLEEPY LIKE AT 2AM, BUT NONE OF US COULD ACTUALLY SLEEP CAUSE WE WERE SCARED. LOL.
ANYWAY, SOME OF YOU MAY RECOGNIZE THE PRANK SCENE FROM A 5SOS KEEK, I DID IT ON PRPOSE.
