overcomer

~Hi I'm Lilly you can call me lil. This is a story about a tragedy that happened to me and my best friend Anna and the challenges i have face in my life and the name I earned -  the Overcomer.~

     "lilly! dinners ready" I run down stairs and went into the kitchen. I see my older brother brian eating "hi fatty" I waved "hi fatty"he waved back. I know its weird but unlike other siblings, me and my brother get along pretty well. well he would be the best brother anyone could ever have, I would tell him everything, he is the only person I trust fully. im in 5th grade and he is a freshman in highschool so he knows how to drive. "your brother is going to drive you to school today, I dont know if I can drive today I dont feel good. Brian can you stay a little longer to take me to the doctor?" "yeah sure" i put away my plate in the sink and I go upstairs and get ready for the first day of school.

     I took a shower and I put on my cloths and whatever you do to get ready for school. "lilly hurry were running late!" I run downstairs and ran to the car.  I like sitting in the front with my brother even if im not supposed to. but who cares right? we put the radio on the highest volume and started singing at the top of our lungs. "~ say what they want, say what they want we are freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~" we lower the raidio when we get closer to school. "you know, Im supprised that summer is already over."I said because its true "Im supprised we didnt get caught by the police"brian said.

     I got out of the car and closed the car door. I walked confidentiality in the building. I see my friend Anna and walked in to the gym and sat down. "what did you do this summer?" I asked.     "oh ..um......" a tear rolled down her cheak. "what happened?" I asked. "I dont want to talk about it." I said ok and I didnt bother to ask her anything. they let us go to our class grade by grade. and everything went good from there. it was fun learning everybodys names and what they enjoy or like.  I walked with Anna to the car rider line laughing and talking, to the point were we got in trouble. Anna went quiet "um lilly I need to tell you something I cant keep it inside any longer" I listened. " um... a few days ago my younger brother got a heart attack." "wait little james? hes in the hospital?""yeah he's in the hospital my mom and dad wont tell me anything." then it hit me, what? I felt dizzy, I dazed off ,what?, who? a sudden glimps of me and my dad in the car when  I was a baby. I heard screaching of tires and car horns honking, people screaming, a baby crying, a woman grieving, sirens ringing, policeman yelling, hospital signals beeping. I knew what that was. "father" I wispered a tear rolled down my cheak "I never got to say good bye"

     I heard brian calling me so I packed my stuff said goodbye to anna and my new teacher. I went to the car. when I got in the car there was silence. I put my hand on the raidio button and I saw my brother shake his head so I slowly draw back my hand. me and my brother didnt talk for the rest of the ride home. untill he said "lilly I have to show you something."I followed him into the house and turned on the computer. I saw my mom in a hospital bed smiling  " lilly how are you doing? did you have a good school day? I saw james in the hospital and he is not doing too good and um I dont know how to say this ........ um lilly dont worry but I ....... um ...."a tear rolled down her cheak and I was starting to cry too but I kept on watching "lilly I have stage 2 cancer."
