"I have the most horrible news darling!" my mother shrieked as she walked into the big living room. "your father wants you to go stay with him and his new wife Suzie, isn't it aweful? of course i know you won't leave me" she looked me in the eye, "will you?" my eyes lit up at the thought of living with my dad and a new mom, I hadn't seen him since summer which was almost a year ago! " mom is it okay if i see how it is and come back if i don't like it?" i murmured hesitantly waiting for her to explode but when i looked up she was rinning, very unusual for her. "why of course my dear! though i doubt you need to pack much then you'll be home in no time!" she said in her posh british accent which i could never take a grasp of so i sounded out of place at all her tea party's.
I sounded like a canadian because that's where i was raised for the first five years of my life then Jacob was born and my mom and dad split, dad took Jacob, that's practically the only reason i get to visit in the summer and moved to the states, and my mother took me and moved to England. i have been living in this aweful uptight place ever since they split and i hated it my mother banned me from anything too loud so i couldn't play the guitar or piano in the house, unless the music for piano was classical which i was not very fond of. "ok mom i'll pack my bags!" i said brightly leaping for my lime-green and black striped suitcase and throwing random clothes in it along with all my hidden music sheets and trinkets. "your flight will be here at 8 o'clock sharp so don't be late! and you have to bring that wretched dog too." she replied boredly and left my room closing the door quietly i couldn't hear her footsteps as she retreated down the hall, I checked the clock, 7:30? plenty of time! i thought as i rushed into my private bathroom and grabbed my toothbrush, toothpaste and floss flinging them into my suitcase as well. i called to Duke my giant black german shepherd and pulled out his over-sized crate dragging it down the stairs and placing him in it beside the door before running back up to get the rest of my things.
By 8:15PM i was flying through the air on our private jet my stomach turning every once and a while as we hit some turbulance. I was glad to land but as i stepped out of the jet pulling my single suitcase and a dog crate behind me with a small make-up bag sitting atop of it i didn't expect to see 14 snotty kids that were strangers to me standing alongside my dad and an older woman who must have been Suzie. Jacob came charging at me and i dropped my things catching him in my arms hugging him tightly. "welcome home!" my dad called and most of the kids gave me hate filled glances. "bring Duke and lets get in the bus!" Jacob said eagerly as he grabbed my make-up bag and ran towards a bright yellow vehicle, my dad reached for my suitcase trailing it behind them and i pulled the trolly that Duke's kennel was currently sitting on. this is going to be more difficult than i thought. i sighed inwardly.
